Are you a creative and driven Visual Designer in the making? Is your head full of creative ideas to excite employees with beautiful graphic designs according to brand guidelines? Do you want to experience firsthand what it is like to work within a large company like KLM within the challenging maintenance division KLM Engineering & Maintenance (E&M)? Then we have the perfect internship for you!
What will you do?
At Engineering & Maintenance, we are looking for a Visual Designer intern. In this role, you will get the chance to work on various projects and assignments. You will get to work on designing visuals, infographics, flyers, gadgets, and animations for both internal and external communication.
You will work within and together with the Sourcing E&M department. Because of this, you will learn not only about design, but also about the technical sector and how to create visually appealing content that resonates with our internal and external stakeholders. Core tasks of your internship are: creative design, graphic design, and contributing to the development of communication materials. We work in accordance with KLM/government advice regarding working from home.
Where will you land?
Your internship takes place in the maintenance division of KLM; KLM Engineering & Maintenance. Together with Air France Industries (AFI), KLM E&M is a leading player in the global aircraft maintenance industry. In addition to the KLM and Air France fleets, KLM E&M and AFI maintain the aircraft, engines, and components of more than 160 customers worldwide. A total of approximately 13,000 employees work at KLM E&M and Air France Industries (of which about 4,500 are at KLM E&M).
You will be working in the E&M Sourcing team. This team consists of about 10 pleasant colleagues (each with their own assignment/role within the team) and works partly together on various projects. Where necessary, we help each other. You will primarily be working in Building 404.
Your profile
You are available from February 2027 for a minimum of 4 months, 3 to 4 days per week. If you would like to do your internship for a longer period, that is certainly a possibility! This is a working internship; there is no room for a graduation project.
What do we offer?
KLM offers you a very educational experience in a dynamic organization in which you will play an important role. You can develop yourself strongly in this internship, both personally and professionally. Additionally, this internship offers you the opportunity to build your network, as you will be sitting at the table with many different KLM employees!
Another advantage of an internship within KLM is the association by and for interns; KLM Taxibaan. This association expands your network and provides pleasant events and interesting excursions within the KLM organization. There is also an internship allowance.
Ready for your next destination?
Then don't wait any longer, and apply for the 'final boarding call' on 28-10-2026! You do not need to write a motivation letter; during your application, we will ask you several targeted questions. You will receive a message from us within two weeks after the closing date of the vacancy.
Did you know that according to research, women are less likely to apply than men if they do not meet all the job requirements? A shame. Because as far as we are concerned, 'the perfect candidate' is a myth. So, do you have the drive to still grow in some aspects of this role? We look forward to your application.
