The role

Step aboard your next job: finance business analyst at KLM Information Services! You transform data and figures into actionable insights: understandable financial information that enables colleagues and management to make well-informed decisions. In this way, you contribute to a smooth-running organization and unforgettable flights.

What you'll do

When Finance and the business engage in conversation, you are our interpreter. Where others see an operational idea, you primarily focus on its financial impact. Conversely, you also effortlessly translate complex figures into an understandable story for colleagues. For example, why are salary costs higher than expected? By connecting data and information, you draw a conclusion. You then inform the controller, or the business directly, with this information.

Additionally:

  • you contribute to reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the monthly closing;
  • you always want to make processes better and smarter (e.g., developing aligned dashboards);
  • you are skilled in process improvement, digitalization, and standardization;
  • you approach people within and outside KLM for the data and information you need; and
  • you support the execution of complex financial analyses and act as a sparring partner for the Business, the Business Controller, and the manager of Business Analysis.

In short

Vacancy type: Regular

Where will you land?

Get acquainted with agile, offshoring, data lakes, workstation services, and cybersecurity! You will be working in the dynamic and complex environment of Finance IT. Air France KLM IT employs 2,400 employees and spends over €950M per year on the development and management of 2,000 applications, 3 twin datacenters, and 85,000 devices. This makes a significant contribution to business operations and the further digitalization of all business units of Air France KLM.

The IT finance team consists of 20 employees - spread across the Netherlands and France - and is responsible for the challenging and complex financial management of IT.

Information Services is located in the Point of View building at Schiphol-Rijk. Hybrid working is among the possibilities.

Your profile

You don't just put a strong scenario on paper, but you also know how to substantiate it firmly. For this, you must be analytically and communicatively strong. That combination comes in extremely useful once you explain what your data means. This requires not only knowledge of the subject and a healthy dose of persuasiveness, but you must also be able to listen well and connect - this makes you a pleasant team member. You are 'in control' of your process and look for improvements within it; you feel a constant drive for innovation. You determine which steps you want to take in this regard. Because the smoother a process, the more profitable the organization - and you are more than happy to contribute to that.

Furthermore:

  • you have an HBO or WO degree in a financial field;
  • you have practical experience in a financial role;
  • you are proficient with data analysis tools and MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint);
  • you have experience with process improvement, automation, BI tools, and management reporting;
  • you are proactive, pragmatic, and communicatively strong; and
  • you speak and write English well.

What do we offer?
