As Engineering Manager Store Technology, you will help build what our store support will look like tomorrow. You aren't stepping into a comfortable situation, but into a domain that is constantly in motion. The challenge lies in optimizing and technical improvement, but especially in making smart technical choices and building a team that makes the existing landscape better, step by step. Using data and AI, you will improve service for both customers and colleagues in the store, at scale.
You take responsibility for the technology and the building of strong engineering teams. You ensure that these products are reliable and get better every day, assembling a team that truly wants to contribute to this goal by staying in close contact with end users. We don't build software for fun; we truly want to make a difference.
You step into an environment where logic in monoliths sometimes still plays an important role. You dare to make choices in this. Together with your teams, you bring it back to the basics and rebuild functionality with your own services. From configuration to engineering.
You manage approximately three DevOps teams, some of which are already established and some of which are still being built. You help colleagues grow and create an environment where ownership is a given. Teams work according to: you Build it, you Run it, you Own it. You provide direction, clarity, and development.
You strengthen the engineering culture. You help teams grow from configuration-oriented working to true engineering teams, with a focus on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You bring structure and help teams deliver predictably, without losing agility.
You focus heavily on automation and AI. Think of conversational interfaces, smart routing, and supporting agents with generative AI. In this way, you reduce manual work and improve both speed and experience.
You work closely with Product and Architecture according to the three-in-the-box principle and ensure that choices align well, while you dare to challenge your team's purpose and composition.
You continue to build in-store employee support, with solutions such as 'my tasks and messages'. You encourage your teams to regularly go into the store, ensure teams measure whether their product delivers value, and listen to colleagues and translate insights into concrete technical improvements.
You make data part of the core. You unlock data, make it insightful, and manage performance, adoption, and improvement opportunities based on facts.
You derive energy from working at a company that supports an enormous group of customers through many colleagues in the stores, and you understand what it means to make an impact at scale.
You have experience leading engineering teams and derive energy from growing people and setting up strong, autonomous teams.
You have a solid engineering background and move easily in a DevOps environment where teams take end-to-end responsibility.
You get energy from change. You dare to challenge existing solutions and actively look for ways to simplify, innovate, or rebuild—step by step, with an eye for the existing landscape.
You are curious about automation and AI and see opportunities to make services smarter, faster, and better.
You enjoy working together with product and architecture and know how to bring different perspectives together into clear choices and direction.
You actively seek out practical experience, listen to users, and translate what you see and hear into concrete improvements with real impact.
