Senior Technician IREF

• A completed technical education at MBO-4 or HBO level, for example in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)
  • HVAC
  • Refrigeration Technology
• Demonstrable experience with complex service, troubleshooting, or commissioning activities.
• Extensive knowledge of building-related installations and control systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical schematics and documentation.
• Good communication skills and a professional, customer-oriented attitude.
• Good command of the Dutch language.

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS).
• Experience within building automation, HVAC, or industrial automation.
• Experience guiding colleagues or coordinating on-site activities.
• Knowledge of Johnson Controls systems or similar solutions.

As Lead Technician, you are responsible for the successful commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of complex technical installations. You combine deep technical expertise with field leadership and serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding complex technical issues. From commissioning new installations to resolving critical faults: you ensure that systems function safely, reliably, and optimally. In doing so, you mentor fellow technicians, coordinate on-site activities, and represent Johnson Controls as a technical expert to the customer.

• Commissioning, configuring, and optimizing complex building-related installations and systems.
• Performing diagnostics and resolving complex technical faults.
• Performing inspections, testing, and system validations according to applicable standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
• Interpreting technical documentation, including electrical schematics, control engineering drawings, piping diagrams, and psychrometric charts.
• Monitoring the performance and reliability of installations throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Acting as a technical specialist and point of reference for colleagues regarding complex technical challenges.
• Guiding, coaching, and supporting less experienced technicians.
• Coordinating on-site activities and overseeing the quality of performed work.
• Directing and supervising subcontractors when necessary.
• Supporting project teams during handovers, upgrades, and service activities.
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Acting as the primary technical point of contact during service and commissioning activities.
• Informing customers about progress, findings, and potential risks.
• Advising on improvements, system optimizations, upgrades, and replacements.
• Providing technical instructions and knowledge transfer to end users.
• Working according to all applicable safety, environmental, and quality guidelines.
• Ensuring timely and accurate service reports.
• Recording activities, test results, and system changes.
• Actively developing and maintaining specialist knowledge of products, systems, and technologies.
