EY-Parthenon - Senior Consultant - Transactions & Accounting

• Minimum 3-4 years of work experience as an in-company financial controller or accountant (or a similar role); experience at a Big-4 firm is a plus
• A master's degree in Accounting & Financial Management, Business Administration, (Financial) Economics, or another related field
• Familiarity with international accounting standards, such as IFRS and US GAAP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset and driven by curiosity
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written
• Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment, as well as involvement in a wide range of business activities, is a plus

The Transactions & Accounting (T&A) team is part of the Transaction Corporate Finance practice within EY-Parthenon, and offers our clients a wide range of knowledge, skills, and expertise.

During transactions - such as fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, or initial public offerings (IPOs) - the finance organization is expected to provide timely, accurate insights and reliable data to support strategic decision-making. However, many companies struggle to meet these requirements under pressure, which can lead to missed investment opportunities and a loss of shareholder confidence.

With your knowledge and experience in finance, accounting and/or control, you, together with the T&A team, will play a key role in supporting companies in tackling the challenges their finance organization faces before, during, or after a transaction. Additionally, you will guide them in building the financial capabilities required for their next growth phase and strategic ambitions.

• Identifying and resolving obstacles during a transaction lifecycle, by:
  • Preparing and structuring financial information that is essential for the transaction
  • Coordinating various internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction process - including auditors, external advisors, and other involved parties - with the aim of smooth progress, timely decision-making, and alignment with critical milestones
• Building a sustainable foundation for the next growth phases by:
  • Formalizing core processes and internal controls within Finance Operations, such as Purchase-to-Pay or Record-to-Report
  • Analyzing the current Target Operating Model of the finance organization and identifying areas for improvement to strengthen the effectiveness, scalability, and strategic alignment of the finance organization

Our office in Amsterdam is located in the Zuidas: a vibrant area where many companies are based. In our Cross Towers, as many as 1500 people are welcomed every day upon arrival. and a colleague from the relevant department will also be present. During this mutual introduction, we would love to get to know you, and you will have the opportunity to ask your questions as well.

4. The second interview: If we see a match after the first interview and you are still enthusiastic, a second introduction will follow. In this interview, we will go deeper into the position and other relevant themes, and sometimes a business case is also part of the procedure. It may be that a final interview takes place.
