What you'll do
Your new job | About your most important responsibilities
As an In-house counsel Litigation, you advise the EY organization on a wide range of topics, including reputation and liability issues. You independently or as part of a team handle complaints, claims, and investigations by regulators. You translate complex rules regarding quality, integrity, and supervision into practical legal advice. You work on legally complex and often organization-wide issues, where substantive quality and practical results go hand in hand. You have direct contact with our board and with partners and professionals in the Dutch organization. Additionally, you regularly have contact with colleagues within the global EY network regarding cross-border issues.
Your role goes beyond that of a legal advisor alone. You are a sparring partner for the organization, take charge of various files, and work closely with professionals with different expertise. Because you are close to the organization, you see immediately what happens with your advice and can not only help resolve disputes but also contribute to identifying and preventing them early.
- You advise on the prevention and handling of potential complaints, disputes, and lawsuits conducted by or against EY, in civil law, disciplinary law, and sometimes economic criminal law. In doing so, you identify reputation risks at an early stage.
- You contribute ideas regarding supervision and regulation, including the Audit Firms Supervision Act (Wet toezicht accountantsorganisaties).
- You analyze and handle legal issues, including in the fields of liability law and contract law.
- You coordinate information requests from regulators and law enforcement agencies.
- You are a sparring partner for the organization, take charge of various files, and contribute to innovation within our legal function.
