Physical Laboratory Technician | 3-shift rotation

You have:

• A completed laboratory education, for example MLO level 3 or 4;
• Affinity with physical laboratory techniques;

Do you want to combine practical laboratory work with independence and responsibility? For our Physical Laboratory in Amersfoort, we are looking for a Physical Laboratory Technician for the 3-shift rotation.

You will work with environmental samples, perform various physical analyses, and ensure that samples are processed carefully and according to our quality guidelines. During the night shift, you have an extra independent role: you monitor the automated processes and perform urgent analyses that arrive during the night.

As a Physical Laboratory Technician, you will be involved in the pretreatment and analysis of various environmental samples. Your duties include:

• Pretreating samples, such as digestion, rinsing, drying, grinding, and sieving;
• Performing physical determinations, including clay, organic matter, and particle size determinations;
• Working with various laboratory equipment and techniques according to fixed work instructions;
• Assessing work based on protocols and regulations;
• Identifying deviations and malfunctions and taking action where necessary;
• Contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

In the night shift, you work more independently and are responsible for the continuity of the laboratory process. You monitor the automated processes, identify and resolve deviations where possible, and independently perform urgent analyses that arrive during the night.

In doing so, you ensure that urgent samples are processed in a timely manner and according to the applicable quality guidelines, and that the other processes continue to run smoothly.

You will work according to the following shift schedule:

• Morning shift: 07:00 to 15:30
• Afternoon shift: 15:00 to 23:30
• Night shift: 23:00 to 07:30

You work accurately, take responsibility, and enjoy working both independently and together with colleagues. Even when working a night shift independently, you know how to set priorities and maintain an overview.
