You know what happens on the ground: safety, collaboration, and tight planning are second nature to you. But perhaps you are ready for more: more ownership, more complex projects, more room to grow. At Dura Vermeer Railinfra, you work on challenging rail projects and on yourself. In a family business where you are not a number, but a colleague who counts. Sounds good? Then this is your station.
This will be your job
As a lead site manager, you are responsible for the execution of integral rail infrastructure projects throughout the Netherlands. Think of renewing the marshalling yard in Eindhoven, working for the High-Frequency Rail Transport Program in Nijmegen, or rail renewal in Tilburg. You belong to the Track, Stations & Infra department. That group handles new construction, renewal, and laying track, up to the construction, expansion, and renovation of railway stations and rail sidings. Dura Vermeer Railinfra is growing fast. That is why we are looking for you to strengthen the team. In this role, together with your colleagues, you manage the organization and supervision of the work, from the preliminary phase through to execution. You can switch gears independently and take responsibility for a smooth project progression. You are already involved in the tender phase and contribute ideas regarding working methods, phasing, equipment, and safety.
You lead the execution team on quality, safety, and progress;
You bear ultimate responsibility for all MAJOR aspects within the execution of a project and intervene in time if things need to change;
You ensure clear collaboration with project management, coordination, and subcontractors;
You coach your team, stimulate development, and create a safe working environment;
You have an eye for risks as well as opportunities within the execution;
At Dura Vermeer Railinfra, you work on rail projects where civil engineering, infra, rail, and electrical engineering converge. No standard tricks, but truly multidisciplinary work in which your experience counts and is broadened.
Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can feel it. In how we work together, look out for one another, and build with an eye on future generations. Since 1855, we have been building the Netherlands, in residential construction, industrial construction, infrastructure, and technology. Our independence and long-term vision form the foundation of this. With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, it is not about those figures for us. It is about people. About colleagues who work together on projects you can be proud of – iconic and close to home – and contribute to solutions for societal issues. Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with committed people. That is why we invest in good employerhood and a working environment in which you feel at home. Where you can be yourself, feel safe, and speak up. So that you get the best out of yourself and make more together with us.
By nature, you are flexible and see it as a great challenge to work on rail projects throughout the Netherlands. Coaching leadership is in your blood. You think proactively about the project and are able to bring your colleagues along in developments. You look ahead, are naturally positive, and see opportunities. You have a result-oriented and customer-oriented attitude. You are stress-resistant: time pressure and deadlines are no problem for you. And furthermore:
at least a completed technical MBO level 4 education, for example in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar;
5+ years of experience as a site manager or +2 years of experience as a lead site manager is a big plus!
Demonstrable work experience with multidisciplinary projects within heavy-rail
