The role
Rotterdam - As Manager Editorial Strategy & Analysis, you are an analytical heavyweight and are responsible for the strategy and prioritization within the cluster. You realize sustainable digital growth by strategically anchoring data insights within a specific cluster of titles. Additionally, you act as the indispensable link between the central RI&G team and the local newsrooms. Your role focuses on Algemeen Dagblad (AD) and 7 regional titles, such as De Stentor or De Gelderlander.
Who are we?
We are the Editorial Insights & Growth (RI&G) department. Within the News Media & Magazines division, we are the strategic partner for the editorial teams. We do not just provide isolated advice or reports, but we realize sustainable digital growth by strategically anchoring data insights within our media titles.
We act as the indispensable link between the central center of expertise and the daily practice at the local newsrooms. By translating complex datasets into a clear, strategic story, we make editorial decision-making insightful and firmly substantiated. In this way, we help the newsrooms to identify editorial and operational opportunities at a glance, and together we determine the digital course of our news brands.
What you'll do
Cluster Management & Prioritization: You manage the roadmap for the entire cluster and determine which projects and central data innovations receive priority.
Team Performance & Coaching: You provide direct management to a team of local analysts, coach them in their role as a strategic partner for titles, and promote the self-reliance of the newsrooms.
Strategic Filter: You act as the 'bridge' and the filter for ad-hoc questions and distribute these efficiently within the team to safeguard the focus on impact.
Analytical Expert: You independently carry out complex, heavy cluster-wide analyses and strategic deep-dives specifically intended for the cluster.
Networking Function: You align cross-cluster priorities with the central team, the other leads, and the various editors-in-chief within your cluster.
