The role

Rotterdam - Are you ambitious, curious, and ready to tell the news from Maassluis to the people it affects? A position is becoming available at the editorial office of AD Rotterdams Dagblad as a reporter in this municipality.

What are you going to do?
As a reporter, you will get all the space to independently create stories that matter to the residents of Maassluis. You will identify news, largely determine which topics you tackle yourself, and ensure that residents can count on AD Rotterdams Dagblad for reliable and relevant news from their municipality. With your journalistic curiosity, creativity, and sense for different storytelling formats, you will contribute to journalism that matters to people in Maassluis and the surrounding area. You will do this, among other things, by:

What you'll do

  • Identifying news every day, coming up with original angles, and developing them into relevant stories, always with the residents as the starting point.

  • Creating reports, personal interviews, reconstructions, and news stories about diverse topics that
are appealing to a wide audience.

  • For each topic, you choose the storytelling format that best brings the story to life. In doing so, you look beyond just text.

  • You respond quickly and carefully to current events and strive to be the first to publish news online.

  • Being the face of your stories and building upon a recognizable bond with the residents of Maassluis.
