For our location in Nieuwegein, we are looking for a (general) doctor for 24 to 40 hours per week.
Are you a general practitioner or perhaps a specialist (in training) and are you ready for a new step in your career?
Are you looking for a job in which, as a doctor, you have more time for your patient (and the person behind them), stand in the middle of society, AND no longer have to work irregular shifts? Then come work as a doctor in Nieuwegein.
As a physician at the NOK, you are the hub between the bariatric surgeons in the hospital and the patient in your treatment room. At NOK Clinics, you are the medical advisor for the client in your treatment room. Together with your colleagues—care coordinators, practitioners, and coaches—you can make a difference for patients and clients and guide them toward a healthy weight. Without that white coat and without long working days.
Working as a doctor at the NOK & NOK Clinics
Within the multidisciplinary team that, alongside a doctor, consists of an exercise physiologist, psychologist, dietitian, coaches, internist, and surgeon, you are responsible for the medical guidance and monitoring of patients with morbid obesity. This medical guidance is always personal and diverse, covering the internistic, surgical, and psychosocial aspects. You understand: every patient is different, and patients therefore see you as the doctor who has time for them.
During the weight reduction and stabilization trajectories, you provide diagnostics during screening and conduct individual and group sessions. This means you see patients from moment one, but you also see them if, for example, there are complications after surgery. You are responsible for the medical telephone, which means you are the point of contact for medical questions from patients before and after surgery. You also perform medical triage for complaints after surgery. You are truly in contact with your patients and bring about a positive change during their trajectory. What is beautiful is: you build a long-term relationship with your patients. You experience their change from A to Z from up close.
At NOK Clinics, you guide clients toward a healthy and responsible weight together with a care coordinator and a coach. The very first contact with your client is the intake. During this, you discuss the various treatment options and subsequently advise the client on the most suitable treatment. Additionally, you are responsible for the medical guidance and monitoring of the clients following a medicinal treatment within NOK Clinics.
You also prescribe medication, request results and findings, and interpret them. The lines with the bariatric surgeons in the hospital are short, and you are the go-to person/expert for colleagues and patients/clients regarding specific medical matters. Collaboration is our strength; there is hardly any hierarchy.
Working at the NOK is dynamic. No day is the same and every patient has their own story. As a physician at the NOK, you can make a difference with your expertise. But under conditions that are also pleasant for you, such as working during office hours (08:30 - 17:00). This way, you maintain job satisfaction and there is sufficient time left for all the fun things outside of work.
an entrepreneurial, involved, enthusiastic, and communicative physician (general practitioner/ Anios/ physician assistant) with a completed medical degree (preferably medical knowledge in the field of obesity, diabetes mellitus, and related conditions);
BIG registered and an affinity with our patient group;
looking for a job that provides job satisfaction and in which there is attention to your work-life balance;
up to date on developments in the field and thinks proactively along.
In the near future, it will also be possible to work at our location in Utrecht.
Curious and/or want to apply?
Has your curiosity been piqued, or are you still doubting whether working outside the walls of the hospital is for you? We offer low-threshold shadowing days. Have a conversation with our doctors and experience what it really means to work for the NOK.
For questions about the position, you can contact Annette Hokke, branch manager, via 030 303 5363 or apply directly by uploading your CV and motivation letter addressed to our HR advisor Dominique de Nooij.
Dutch Obesity Clinic & NOK Clinics
The Dutch Obesity Clinic (NOK) is the largest and most specialized independent clinic in the Netherlands for the treatment of people with severe overweight (also known as morbid obesity). For more than 25 years, at our 11 locations, we have successfully guided people toward a healthier weight through bariatric surgery in combination with lifestyle coaching, and we do this in multidisciplinary teams.
At NOK Clinics, we can also offer a solution to people struggling with (severe) overweight who have often already tried everything to lose weight, but without bariatric surgery. Within the NOK Clinics division, clients are treated with medication. Naturally, these clients are also guided by our physicians. NOK Clinics treatments are not reimbursed by health insurers.
