Do you want to provide direction to financial statistics that matter? As a project leader for financial healthcare statistics, you ensure that reliable figures regarding the healthcare sector become available for policy, science, and society. You combine substantive sharpness with strong project management and easily build connections with colleagues both within and outside your own team, with data providers, and with the important data users and experts in the healthcare field.
Healthcare is constantly in motion, and the availability and affordability of care are under pressure. Consequently, the demand for accurate figures regarding the income, costs, and business results of healthcare providers, as well as insight into general financial developments in healthcare and total healthcare expenditure, is increasing. At the same time, data sources and user requirements are changing, and methods and systems must be adapted accordingly. You ensure that the project team stays on course and that financial healthcare statistics remain future-proof.
You are responsible for the substantive and project-based management of the process surrounding financial healthcare statistics, including European business statistics on healthcare. You guide the entire process: from retrieving register data and maintaining contacts with data providers to the publication of figures on StatLine and the delivery of statistics to internal and external customers. You monitor planning, quality, and coherence, identify risks, and ensure that results are delivered in a timely and careful manner.
Together with the project team, you work on the improvement and innovation of processes. You help the project team make choices: what can be done smarter and where can we deploy our capacity most effectively?
You ensure clear priorities, realistic planning, and good cooperation within the project team. You monitor the quality of the statistical products and make risks, dependencies, and capacity bottlenecks visible in a timely manner.
In doing so, you know when you need to connect, when you need to direct, and when escalation is necessary. You keep an eye on the people in the team as well as on the social value of the work.
You will work in the Health and Care team. This team consists of over 50 enthusiastic colleagues with a passion for care and figures. We produce personal statistics, economic statistics, and business statistics on current themes such as healthcare expenditure, specialized medical care, long-term care, youth care, causes of death, and the labor market in care and welfare.
Your project team consists of approximately 12 researchers and analysts, often with an economic or financial background. They work on socially relevant figures regarding the financial situation in the Dutch healthcare sectors.
You work closely with colleagues both within and outside the team, such as other business statistics teams, colleagues involved with the business register, and data users such as national accounts, but also with external partners, both for coordination regarding the delivery of data and the use of CBS statistics. You provide oversight, make clear agreements, and ensure that the various contributions together lead to reliable and usable CBS publications.
Some relevant publications:
Revision of statistics on expenditure on health and social care, 2021-2023 | CBS
Increasing number of people with a buildup of mandatory out-of-pocket healthcare costs
Increase in business results for the four largest healthcare sectors continues | CBS
Financial key figures for healthcare institutions | Healthcare providers | Monitor Long-term Care
You are a strong project leader with a substantive interest in financial and economic healthcare statistics. You do not have to perform everything yourself, but you understand the content well enough to ask the right questions, monitor the quality of the statistics, determine priorities, and make decisions.
You are a connector: you involve people at the right moment, listen well, and bring different interests together. At the same time, you dare to provide direction and make decisions. You maintain an overview without losing sight of the detail.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following:
you have a university or applied sciences level of working and thinking, preferably in the economic, financial, administrative, or quantitative field;
you have experience with project management; you can motivate, direct, and provide space to independent professionals;
you are result-oriented and weigh planning, quality, and capacity well against each other;
you stimulate the innovation of statistical processes and dare to make choices.
For our employment conditions, we follow the CAO Rijk (Central Government Collective Labour Agreement).
That means you can count on the following, among other things:
A salary of at least € 4,818 and at most € 7,094 gross per month based on 36 hours. Depending on your knowledge and experience.
8% holiday allowance and a 13th month. In total, this is 16.5% on top of your salary. We call this the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). You decide yourself how, when, and in what way you want to use this budget.
Pension accrual at the ABP Pension Fund.
A laptop (Microsoft or Apple) and mobile phone (Android or iOS).
Two to three days of working from home, the rest you are present in our recently renovated building. You will make further agreements about this within your team.
We will close the vacancy once sufficient candidates have applied.
