The role
Facility Management | Heijen | €700 | Start: February
Are you an enthusiastic HBO student in Facility Management and do you want to experience what it is like to support a dynamic facilities department from up close? Do you want to not only shadow, but also truly participate and contribute ideas? Then we offer you a unique opportunity within our international organization in Heijen.
What you'll do
As a Facility Management Intern, you will be part of the facilities team and contribute to the daily operations as well as various (improvement) projects. You will learn how a large logistics center facilitates, organizes, and keeps running, from cleaning to safety and from contract management to supplier management.
You will support the Facility Coordinator(s) with, among other things:
- The daily management of facilities (hard and soft services), such as building management, cleaning, catering, and warehouse/workplace setup;
- Maintaining contact with suppliers and internal departments regarding facility requests and ongoing activities;

- Solving ad-hoc facility problems in the operation.
Possible (small) projects you can take on
Depending on your interests and study goals, you can work on one or more projects; examples include:
- Supplier analysis: comparing existing contracts, developing KPIs, and proposing improvements to service delivery;
- Fault reporting improvement project: sharpening the process around reporting, tool optimization (FMIS), or improving communication towards operations;
- Procurement & inventory management: optimizing facility stock (office supplies, workwear, PPE);
- Visitor and reception process: creating a playbook for receiving guests, suppliers, and audits – including safety rules and badge management.
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for an enthusiastic HBO student who wants to learn and gets energy from working in a dynamic environment. You don't need to know everything yet; we find motivation and curiosity to be the most important.
You recognize yourself in the following:
- You are following an HBO program in Facility Management or a similar field;
- You are looking for a working internship of 4 to 5 days per week;
- You take initiative, think in solutions, and maintain an overview, even when it is busy;
- You enjoy interacting with people (technical service, warehouse, suppliers, catering, etc.);
- Good command of the English language (oral and written)
- You can work both independently and collaborate in a team.
