What you'll get

At BDO, you can count on a salary that matches what you do and what you can do. Add to this:

  • plenty of opportunities to develop yourself. Do you want to follow a part-time study externally, or will you sign up for the BDO Academy, Goodhabitz, or one of the summer schools?
  • a pension premium scheme at Nationale Nederlanden to which you contribute 2%. You are also insured for a survivor's pension.
  • 22 vacation days + 10 flex days per calendar year. Do you want even more free time? You can purchase extra flex days in consultation.
  • up to € 25.00 net allowance per month for your gym costs.

The role

With our more than 2,800 colleagues, we are of real value. You can be this too as a KYC Team Leader in our Service Centre Client Onboarding (SCCO) at BDO:

At BDO, as a KYC Team Leader, you are someone who makes a difference for our clients, society, the people around you, and your internal business colleagues. For this, you deploy your experience and proactive attitude to provide direction to your team and to ensure the quality of our client files. Within the SCCO, you are the link that supports the team in the client acceptance process and ensures that activities are carried out according to uniform working methods and within the applicable frameworks.

You coordinate the activities, monitor progress, and adjust when necessary. In doing so, you identify bottlenecks, risks, or deviations and translate these into improvement measures. You contribute to the quality of the delivered files and ensure that processes are followed. Additionally, you play a central role in strengthening quality and integrity within BDO. You also maintain control over the overall planning and oversee the application of BDO policy.

What you'll do

As a team leader, you are the hierarchical and functional manager of the junior and medior analysts, both in the area of KYC (Know Your Client) and COI (Conflict of Interest). This is how you ensure that the analyst team performs client investigations timely, completely, and correctly the first time, in accordance with the acceptance and continuation policy, the Wwft/AMLR, the Sanctions Act, and the GDPR. Additionally, you maintain an overview of the COI team and the processing of, among other things, international COI requests in accordance with independence laws and regulations. In this role, you are also involved in the implementation and anchoring of a new international conflict check system and make an important contribution to process optimization and quality improvement.

Furthermore, you initiate improvement projects in the areas of processes, systems, and technical professional development to continuously strengthen our quality standard. With your overview and decisiveness, you manage priorities, lead times, backlog, and screening alerts, so that client teams can count on reliable and timely support.

In this role, you are not only occupied with daily operations but also with the further development of your team and the improvement of our way of working. You coach colleagues, guide new employees, and translate changes in laws and regulations, processes, and tooling into clear agreements on the work floor, and together with the team, you ensure that these agreements are met. Together with the Director SCCO, senior analysts, and Quality Checkers, you will build a professional service center in which quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement are central.

In the heart of Strijp-S, you will find plenty of culture, innovation, and our Eindhoven office. Approximately 250 professionals work from here. They describe themselves as creative, calm, and sporty. Speaking of sporty: during the annual Eindhoven marathon, there is a dedicated BDO fan zone to cheer on the athletes.

This is how you add value

First, we look at who you are. What you can do. How you successfully deploy your leadership and coordinating skills as a KYC Team Leader. After that, we look at whether you possess:

  • A completed HBO or WO degree, preferably in a legal, economic, or business administration direction;
  • In-depth knowledge of Wwft, AML, sanctions legislation, and experience with complex files;
  • 3 to 5 years of leadership experience within KYC, CDD, or client onboarding;
  • Experience in managing, coaching, and developing junior and medior analysts;
  • Experience with KYC/screening tooling, CRM or workflow systems, and data-driven management;
  • Experience in the field of independence issues and knowledge of the Regulation on the independence of accountants for assurance engagements (ViO);
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language and good command of English.
