The role

At Alstom, we are building railway systems that millions of people rely on every day. With more than 85,000 employees worldwide, we create the most diverse portfolio in the railway industry: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services, and integrated systems.

More than a job: a mission

We are looking for a Troubleshooting Engineer (Field Service) with an affinity for electrical engineering and mechanics and a passion for solving technical challenges. In this role, you will work on various train, tram, and locomotive projects, analyzing faults, identifying the root cause, and implementing an appropriate solution. Some problems are solved quickly, while others require more time, patience, and an investigative mindset. Experience in the railway sector is not required; we offer all the necessary training and support to make you successful in this position.

What you'll do

  • Traveling to customer locations and depots to investigate and resolve technical faults.
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, performing root cause analyses, and implementing corrective measures for electrical and mechanical faults on trains.
  • Replacing or modifying electrical components, cabling, displays, control systems, and other equipment when necessary.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Communicating directly with customers and keeping them regularly informed of progress.
  • Preparing service documentation and reports using digital tools such as a laptop, tablet, and Excel.
