What we're looking for

  • An MBO 3 diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field, or relevant work experience in a similar position.
  • A valid VCA VOL certificate, forklift certificate, and NEN 3140 certification are a plus.
  • A valid driving license B.

Nice to have

  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to quality.
  • Good command of the English and/or Dutch language.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

  • A gross monthly salary between €3,200 and €4,500, depending on experience.
  • A full-time position (40 hours per week - 07:00 to 15:30)
  • 40 leave days per year (27 vacation days + 13 ADV days).
  • Employment conditions according to the Metalelektro collective labor agreement (CAO).

More than a job: a mission

The trams of the Province of Utrecht will undergo a major maintenance overhaul in the coming years to ensure passengers are transported safely and reliably in the future as well. Therefore, we are looking for Maintenance Mechanics for the maintenance and repair of trams. You will work in a team of 26 colleagues, including 19 mechanics. Together, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of the light rail trams of the Province of Utrecht. The work takes place at the depot in Nieuwegein. If necessary, you will also perform work on-site.

Your role, your impact

What you'll do

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on trams and their mechanical systems.
  • Check and replace parts of mechanical components.
  • Inspect components through visual checks, measurements, testing, and condition assessments.
  • Ensure that the tram continues to function safely and reliably.
  • Register maintenance reports, work orders, and administrative tasks in SAP.
