Junior Commissioning Engineer

In the role of Junior Commissioning Engineer, we would like to teach you how you will eventually be able to independently commission and test our complete emergency power installations - from engines and generators to switching devices and fuel systems. Together with an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will shadow them during the first years, after which you will take on some small-scale projects independently until the moment your knowledge has developed far enough to also carry out more complex projects independently. We will continue to monitor your development in this to ensure that you remain technically challenged.

Together, you will ensure that every component functions seamlessly according to the applicable safety standards, technical specifications, and project requirements. The ultimate goal? To deliver a reliable and safe emergency power supply that meets the highest quality standards. In doing so, you will not only work at various locations within the Netherlands, but you will also be regularly active abroad. Flexibility is therefore essential - you adapt effortlessly to different environments, cultures, and circumstances. Additionally, you work well in a team and, together with the Senior Commissioning Engineer, you make the right technical choices based on data and guidelines.

In this role, alongside your direct commissioning colleagues, you will work closely with project, design, and installation teams and you will check for compliance with regulations and perform detailed performance tests before the system is handed over to the customer. As a Junior Commissioning Engineer, you will assist your experienced colleague with the following matters;

• Supervising activities for the purpose of preparing, executing, and reporting on the FAT and SAT.

• Performing and analyzing structured tests on our generators. During which you will pay attention to correctness and safety, so that everything works as designed.

• You will learn all the ins & outs of our own designed generator control system.

• You guarantee that all emergency power installations comply with the standards and the specific project requirements. You work meticulously to ensure that everything is correct down to the last detail.

• You will learn to commission Fuel and Urea systems.

• You carefully record all test results and processes in reports, so that there is clear documentation that meets the project requirements and relevant standards.

• Completed Mbo 4 education, for example in the direction of Maritime, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.

• We are looking for a driven junior commissioning engineer with a strong electrical background.

• You are flexible and do not find it a problem to work abroad for the majority of your time (±70%).

• Willingness and drive to learn all the ins & outs of our emergency power installations; we provide a great induction program, plan courses/training, and pair you with an experienced commissioning engineer to teach you all the tricks of the trade.

• You live within a maximum travel distance of 1.5 hours from IJmuiden.

• You communicate effortlessly in Dutch and English, both orally and in writing.

• A salary between €3,500 and €4,150 gross per month depending on knowledge and experience.

• Holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary, paid in June.

• A total of 30 leave days per year with full-time employment and the possibility to purchase extra days.
