The role
Take development to a higher level, with your vision, code quality, and team coaching.
At Yellowtail, we build software every day that has a direct impact on people's financial lives. Whether it concerns pensions, mortgages, or government services: our solutions make the difference. Large organizations such as APG, Rabobank, and ABN Amro rely on our custom software. To continue delivering this quality, we are looking for a Lead Front-End Developer who takes the technical lead, guards the codebase, and raises his or her team to a higher level.
What you'll do
Your role: lead developer
As a Lead Front-End Developer, you actively participate in the code, but you are also the technical conscience of a product team or project teams. You guard the quality of the front-end code, ensure a consistent architecture, and support your colleagues in their growth.
Your main responsibilities
Developing modern, scalable front-end solutions.
Guarding the quality, structure, and maintainability of the codebase.
Reviewing pull requests and improving the development process.
Guiding less experienced developers (mentoring, pair programming, feedback).
Implementing technical best practices and stimulating knowledge sharing within the team.
Working in multidisciplinary teams with a lot of autonomy and responsibility.
So you are not a 'manager' from a distance, but a hands-on leader with a sharp eye for detail and a great heart for quality and team development.
Why this role fits you
You have been enjoying building complex front-end solutions for years, but you also derive satisfaction from helping others and improving teams. You get happy from a well-structured codebase, an elegant component structure, and from colleagues who perform their work with more confidence and knowledge thanks to your guidance.
