At WSP, we believe the world can become more beautiful and sustainable through smart solutions and collaboration. As Ecology Project Leader, you are the driving force behind projects that balance nature and infrastructure. You ensure that biodiversity is not just a word on paper, but a tangible reality in our living environment.
You work on the restoration of natural areas, the design of ecological corridors, and the realization of climate-adaptive solutions. You advise on flora and fauna for large infrastructure projects, guide permit processes, and ensure that ecological values are preserved. You are the one who puts the puzzle together between humans, nature, and technology.
With this, you contribute to a living environment in which nature and humans strengthen each other. Together with your team, you work on solutions that provide space for biodiversity, even in the densely built-up areas of the Netherlands. You look beyond the standard rules: from our Future Ready vision you investigate not only what must be done, but especially what is possible. How can we make cities greener? How can we bring nature back into redevelopment projects? You are the one who translates these questions into concrete plans. Your core tasks are:
· Leading a multidisciplinary team; you enjoy transferring your ecological knowledge to our juniors and mid-levels and thereby contributing to their development;
· Guiding and managing integral complex projects within spatial developments from an ecological perspective; from permit application to conditioning research;
· Drafting and monitoring project planning (including budget and time) and overseeing contractual aspects;
· Collaborating on the further development of the department and providing substance to further growth in projects on both a national and international level.
You have a strong focus on Dutch ecological processes and want to contribute to increasing biodiversity.
You effortlessly stay up to date with developments in the field and switch gears quickly when necessary.
You have completed a higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) education in ecology, biology, or environmental science and have extensive experience within the ecological field.
You are good at collaborating, organizing, and leading, and know how to create connections between various internal and external stakeholders.
You are proficient in the Dutch language
At WSP, you work in an environment where sustainability and innovation are central. We are involved in leading projects such as nature restoration in river areas, ecological integration of wind farms, and the greening of urban areas. You will be given the space to apply and further develop your expertise, together with colleagues who are just as driven to make an impact.
Hesitating to apply? Just do it! We are proud of promoting diversity, equal opportunities, and professional integration within our teams, and we are convinced that our differences and an inclusive work environment contribute to our development. All applications will be carefully considered.
With us, you can.

You will join a close-knit and energetic team of about twelve colleagues, each with their own story and expertise. Together, you form a group in which knowledge sharing and collaboration are central. You do not view ecological issues from just one angle, but from a broad, integral perspective. This means that you regularly seek connection with other disciplines within WSP, such as water safety, soil research and remediation, geohydrology, and environmental management. This is how solutions arise that truly make a difference.
