Senior Garment Technician

As Senior Garment Technician, you are responsible for the technical quality and fit of your assigned product categories within the collection. You monitor the entire technical development process and act as the connecting link between our Buying and Design departments and our suppliers. Together, you ensure that creative ideas are translated into garments that meet our quality standards and expectations regarding fit, material, and construction.

You fulfill a hands-on role within the Garment Technician team. You support colleagues with your technical expertise and help to organize and coordinate activities. From this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop towards leading and guiding a team of Garment Technicians.

You look beyond daily practice. You identify opportunities to improve technical processes and quality standards and follow developments in the fields of materials, constructions, and fits. In this way, you contribute to an efficient product development process and collections that meet our customers' expectations.

In this role

• You are independently responsible for the technical development and quality of your assigned product categories.
• You drive the technical translation of creative ideas into clear product specifications, technical drawings, and instructions for suppliers and manufacturers.
• You monitor the fit, grading, size specifications, and construction quality of our garments and ensure a consistent application of quality standards.
• You provide direction during fit sessions and the assessment of proto, size set, and pre-production samples. You ensure that findings and follow-up actions are carefully recorded in the PDM system.
• You are the point of contact for complex technical issues and work with Buying, Design, and suppliers on effective solutions for fit, material, and production problems.
• You monitor the maintenance and further development of base patterns and advise on material use, constructions, and seam treatments.
• You identify opportunities to improve quality processes and product development and guide the implementation of new working methods and innovations.
• You follow developments in the fields of fit, materials, and construction techniques and translate relevant insights into daily practice.

Where you make an impact

• You bring knowledge of fashion, garment technology, or product development through relevant work experience.
• You have extensive technical knowledge of patterns, fits, grading, materials, and garment constructions and can apply this knowledge within product development.
• You have experience with technical systems and tools, such as CAD-CAM; knowledge of Gerber is a plus.
• You know how to guide and develop a team, transfer knowledge, and collaborate on a consistent quality approach.
• You plan and organize activities effectively, maintain an overview of various processes, and make well-founded decisions to ensure quality and progress.
