Requirements

What we're looking for

  • you have completed at least an MBO3 Mechatronics education, with demonstrable work experience within Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics as a troubleshooting technician;

  • you can work well under pressure, for example when guests are waiting in line until you have resolved the malfunction;

  • you are solution-oriented and do not have a 9-to-5 mentality. Additionally, reliability and guest-friendliness are qualities that suit you well;

  • you are available to work according to a flexible work schedule. This includes working on weekends, evenings, and public holidays;

  • possession of your own transport is a requirement due to the working hours.

The role

How cool is it to get the chance to work on all the attractions at Walibi?! No boring offices, but a spectacular environment, where you will regularly be asked to climb to the top of the Goliath. So, do you have no fear of heights and can you work well under pressure? Do you always think of the guests' safety first and can you collaborate well? Then we are looking for you!

As a Mechatronics Technician in Technical Services, you will work every day on the 36 attractions that vary enormously in complexity. You are therefore broadly deployable and enjoy a technical challenge.

What you'll do

What will you do during the opening season (April through October)?

  • When the park is open, you will work in a 2-shift system. There are 3 teams consisting of 6 mechanical technicians and 2 electrical technicians, plus a team leader. Based on your education, you are already trained to combine both roles, so this is entirely your field of expertise. Because the park is also open on weekends, the shift work also continues on Saturdays and Sundays;

  • during the season, the morning shift always begins by checking the attractions using checklists. Once the guests can ride safely, you give your "go" to the attraction staff;

  • besides the startup, you also perform periodic inspections and carry out minor maintenance and repairs on attractions and building-bound installations. Large repairs are handled by the evening shift after closing time;

  • in the evening shift, you ensure that the attractions are 100% available for the next day;

  • if a defect or malfunction is detected somewhere, you and your colleague ensure that the attraction is operational again as quickly as possible.

But what do you do as a Mechatronics Technician when the park is closed?

  • Then you perform major maintenance. This is both heavy mechanical work, such as on chain wheels, and fine electronic work on wiring and sensors. The winter schedule specifies which attraction is due and when. The trains are taken off the track and disassembled. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that the attractions are ready to face an entire season again;

  • you carefully inspect every attraction for any maintenance requirements;

  • in the winter, work is not done in shifts, which means a normal work week from Monday through Friday.

Who are you?

  • You enjoy working with technology in a very diverse way. Rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty is your world;

This is what you get in return!

  • A dynamic and informal organization;

  • a full-time contract of 38 hours per week;

  • a salary based on job group 6 (€ 2,645.47 - € 3,289.31) of the Horeca CAO, with the possibility to grow into an Allround Technician (job group 7) after 2 years;

  • travel allowance of 0.19 cents per kilometer with a maximum of 75 km one way;

  • 15% shift allowance in the period from April through October;

  • 25 vacation days based on a full-time contract (38 hours per week) and the possibility to purchase 5 extra vacation days per year, 8% holiday allowance, and a pension scheme (Horeca & Catering);

  • free access to Walibi Holland and other visitor and discount schemes;

  • Club van Elf discount card scheme: 50% discount on the entrance price at partner parks (including Efteling, Burgers’ Zoo, and Van Gogh Museum).
