Electrical Engineering / Power Supply Internship

During this internship, you will actively participate in the design phase of new installations that provide the power supply for the railway within a project of VolkerRail, the railway contractor of the Netherlands, which specializes in the construction and maintenance of rail infrastructure. You will get the chance to gain direct work experience in a team of various specialists.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Preparing technical drawings and calculations;

• Substantiating and describing design choices;

• Performing on-site surveys;

• Thinking along about technical solutions within power supply installations;

• Supporting designers and engineers within the project team.

You will work primarily with installations and systems within the power supply of the Railinfra.

The internship has the character of a shadowing internship. No fixed graduation assignment or problem statement has been established. When your studies require a concrete assignment or research, we are happy to look for a suitable way to fulfill this together with you.

• An educational internship within the world of Railinfra and power supply;

• An internship allowance of €650 gross per month based on 40 hours. For a part-time internship, the allowance will be adjusted pro rata;

• You will get plenty of room to work on a challenging project within the development of the railway;

• Guidance by experienced professionals in an informal and professional working environment

• Possibility to carry out a school assignment or research;

• Internship period of preferably six months

• Possibility to participate 3 to 5 days per week

• Through Jong VolkerRail, you can join fun and educational workshops, events, and activities. Participation is voluntary, so you choose for yourself what you participate in.

You are a curious and hands-on student who wants to gain practical experience within technology.

Additionally:

• You are following a technical mbo education (2nd or 3rd year), preferably in the direction of electrical engineering, power supply, or rail technology;

• You are eager to learn and creative;

• You enjoy working together, but can also work independently;

• You find it fun to solve technical problems practically;

• A VCA certificate is useful, but not a hard requirement.
