At Van Oers, we make a difference by looking beyond the numbers. We understand what is truly happening with our clients and translate financial information into strategic insight. By staying close to entrepreneurs, we act as a sparring partner and help them make sustainable choices and maintain their competitive edge.
We stay ahead by interpreting current developments and converting them into concrete, future-oriented solutions. In doing so, we combine professional depth with entrepreneurship and an eye for the person behind the organization. From that same vision, we offer you as a professional plenty of room to take charge of your development and make an impact, both professionally and personally.
At our locations in Breda, Roosendaal, Rotterdam, and The Hague, you will work together in a committed team. Knowledge sharing, collaboration, and quality are central, with attention to one another and to shared goals. Will you take your next step as a Senior Accountancy Associate at Van Oers?
As a Senior Accountancy Associate, you take a leading role in preparing annual accounts and monitoring the quality of financial reporting. You look beyond the numbers and actively identify opportunities and risks for clients. With your experience, you ensure that files are substantively strong and compliant, and you act as a sparring partner for both clients and colleagues.
You independently maintain client relationships, switch proactively, and advise where necessary on appropriate solutions. Additionally, you have a coaching role within the team and contribute to the development of less experienced colleagues.
A glimpse of your responsibilities:
You prepare (complex) annual accounts and assess them critically;
You review administrations and make adjustments where necessary;
You analyze financial data and translate this into relevant insights for the client;
You independently maintain client contact and act as an advisor;
You think proactively along regarding optimizations and solutions for issues;
You guide and coach (junior) colleagues and interns;
You work efficiently with modern accounting software and contribute to process improvements.
You combine analytical ability with decisiveness and take responsibility for the quality of your work. You work accurately and with integrity, with a sharp eye for detail and the bigger picture. Out of commitment, you act proactively and identify opportunities for improvement in a timely manner.
You communicate clearly and persuasively, both towards clients and colleagues, and you dare to give and receive constructive feedback. During busy periods, you maintain an overview and set the right priorities, so that you continuously add value.
Furthermore, we ask:
A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Accountancy or Finance & Control;
A strong affinity with the accountancy profession and the role of advisor;
Experience with and interest in SMEs, digitalization, and process optimization;
Ambition to further develop yourself, both professionally and personally, and to grow within your role.
With us, you are allowed to ‘just do it’. Saying what you do and doing what you say, that is how we work at Van Oers. We communicate clearly and honestly; we don't blow our own trumpet. Together with colleagues, partners, and clients, we roll up our sleeves.
Furthermore, we offer:
A suitable salary that aligns with your knowledge and relevant work experience for this role;
Mobility budget where you decide how to use it;
Non-contributory pension with the possibility of tax-advantaged supplementary savings;
Laptop and mobile phone;
Study scheme;
Possibility to work partially from home;
Home office allowance of €2.45 per day;
€1200,- budget from Coolblue to set up your home workspace after completing your probationary period;
A well-developed onboarding process in which you get to know the organization, tasks, and colleagues.
