The role

32-40 hours, Hoofddorp

As a Platform Engineer, do you want to work on the technological foundation of the organization? You build and manage reliable, scalable, and secure platforms that enable teams to deliver value quickly and in a controlled manner. In an environment where cloud and Kubernetes are central, you make a daily impact on the stability and further development of our digital services.

What you'll do

What are you going to do?
In your new job as a Platform Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary Agile team responsible for realizing, optimizing, and managing Transavia's Integration Platform. We believe strongly in collaboration. That means you are proactive, want to continuously improve, and support colleagues where necessary. Within our Agile way of working, you will actively contribute to our ambition to become a high-performing team.

You will focus on a platform that is secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient. This includes maintaining and improving cloud-based platform services, API integrations, messaging components, automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and Azure-based integration technologies.

Together with product teams, developers, architects, operations, and external suppliers, you ensure that the platform enables stable and efficient integrations between internal systems, SaaS solutions, cloud services, and external platforms. You actively contribute to platform standards, operational improvements, incident handling, testing, and determining priorities within the team.

And you do much more, such as

  • Being responsible together with the team for the full lifecycle of the platform, from design and implementation to management and further development;

  • Developing and improving cloud- and Azure-based platform services, API management, messaging, CI/CD pipelines, and observability solutions;

  • Ensuring stable and efficient integrations between internal systems, SaaS solutions, cloud services, and external suppliers;

  • Collaborating closely with product teams, developers, architects, operations, and external partners to realize high-quality solutions;

  • Taking initiative for improvements in the areas of innovation, security, automation, lifecycle management, and platform architecture;

  • Documenting technical solutions and platform components clearly and maintainably.

The right baggage as a Medior Platform Engineer

  • HBO working and thinking level, based on an ICT education or relevant experience, supplemented with at least 4 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or in a similar role;

  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure cloud services, and Azure Integration Services, including Service Bus, API Management, Functions, Logic Apps, and Event Hub;

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep) and CI/CD via Azure DevOps;

  • Experience with scripting and tooling such as Python, Bash, Git, Helm, and SQL;

  • Experience with observability tooling such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, and Application Insights;

  • Knowledge of networking and experience in complex cloud and integration environments;

  • Experience with incident management, RCA, and runbooks in a DevOps context;

  • Residing in the Netherlands and a good command of the English language;

  • Open attitude: you embrace diversity;

  • Energy for change: you get a boost from improving, collaborating, and achieving results.
