Databricks Platform Engineer

• Extensive experience with Databricks.
• Experience with designing, implementing, and managing data platforms.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Azure and the role Azure plays regarding Databricks deployments.
• Understanding of data architecture, integrations, data products, and platform engineering.
• Experience with connecting different data sources and unlocking data for multiple stakeholders.
• You understand not only how something should be built, but also why, and you can bring stakeholders along in choices and provide direction to a data strategy.

Help me set up the data foundation of a mission-critical environment.

For one of our teams, we are looking for an experienced Databricks Engineer who not only understands technology but is also able to bridge the gap between platform development and customer needs. You will help set up a modern data platform based on Databricks and Azure, so that the customer can deploy data securely, reliably, and scalably for new data products and insights. In doing so, you will work closely with both engineers and stakeholders on the customer side to understand what is needed and how the platform should be configured accordingly.

This role involves seeing the bigger picture, providing direction, and being able to think along about how a data platform can be optimally deployed within a complex environment.

• Setting up, configuring, and further developing a Databricks platform in Azure.
• Helping with the implementation and landing of existing data platform services within a customer environment.
• Understanding which data products and use cases the customer wants to realize and translating these into platform choices.
• Advising on architecture, configuration, integrations, and best practices.
• Thinking along about strategy regarding data, platform development, and scalability.
• Contributing to knowledge building around Databricks within Schuberg Philis.

We are looking for someone who has not only used Databricks, but also understands how to build a platform around it. You get energy from building something that is still fully in development, allowing you to contribute directly to the further development of our broader data capability.
