Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with container platforms and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• A strong background in Linux, infrastructure, and open source technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and automation.
• You understand how mission-critical systems must be designed, managed, and optimized.
• You are a pragmatic engineer who quickly masters new technology and solves complex problems in a structured manner.
• Good communication skills in Dutch.

• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Amazon EKS, or similar managed Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience with VMware, private cloud, or traditional infrastructure platforms.
• Knowledge of observability solutions such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience with data platforms, AI/ML platforms, or data collection solutions.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will work on the development and management of multiple modern platforms. You will work in a team that builds cloud-native platforms on Azure, private cloud environments, and future data platforms. In doing so, we are not looking for a specialist who only masters a single technology, but a strong engineer who knows how to bring together complex issues regarding infrastructure, containers, cloud, and automation.

You will work closely with both Schuberg Philis colleagues and customer engineers to build reliable, secure, and future-proof platforms.

Responsibilities may vary depending on the project and the team's focus, but may include among others:

• Designing, building, managing, and optimizing Kubernetes platforms in production environments.
• Implementing and improving cloud-native solutions within Azure, private cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Managing the full lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, scaling, security, and platform improvements.
• Developing and maintaining automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps principles.
• Improving observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure the reliability of mission-critical platforms.
• Collaborating with engineering teams on new platform initiatives, including data platforms and data collection solutions.
• Resolving complex infrastructure and platform issues within a broad technological landscape.
• Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of architecture, processes, and engineering standards.
