Apprentice Technician - BBL track in the Netherlands

Watching Netflix, taking a warm shower, reheating a pizza, or grabbing a glass of clean drinking water. It all seems obvious, but that is only possible thanks to the underground infrastructure of the Netherlands. Beneath the ground lie cables and pipes that ensure homes, businesses, and entire neighborhoods have electricity, gas, water, heat, and data.

As an Apprentice Underground Infrastructure Technician at Siers, you will learn how to contribute to the field. You won't be standing on the sidelines watching; instead, you will get to work yourself, step by step. Together with experienced colleagues, you will work outdoors, in your own region, on projects that truly matter. You will help with the installation, replacement, and maintenance of cables, pipes, and connections. In this way, together with your team, you ensure that households and businesses can continue to rely on safe and reliable utilities.

At Siers, we believe that everyone has their own talents and interests. That is why, within our Apprentice Technician BBL track, you can go in several different directions. Do you want to work on electricity, or would you rather work with gas and water, or does district heating appeal to you? Together, we will look at which direction suits you best. Whichever choice you make: you will primarily learn the trade in practice and work together with experienced colleagues who will guide you step by step. No diplomas or experience? No problem. Through our own training center, GO Infra, we train you to become a certified professional, while you receive a salary from day one.

Safe working is always a priority at Siers. That is why we teach you how to work with tools, materials, cables, and pipes, and what you need to look out for. You start the day with your team, head out together, and learn from colleagues who know the trade.

During your BBL track, you will work in practice 4 days per week and go to school 1 day per week, where you will follow practical and theoretical lessons. You will first obtain your mbo 2 diploma to become a fully qualified technician, and you will have the opportunity to grow into a foreman via an mbo 3 education. In the meantime, you will follow courses that help you to work safely and increasingly independently.

You do not need to be an experienced technician yet. The most important thing is that you have the will to learn the trade. We will provide the guidance and training.

It is, however, nice if you bring a good foundation:

• You have a driver's license;

• You have at least a VMBO diploma;

• You are interested in technology and motivated to learn a trade;

• You enjoy working outdoors at various project locations;

• You are physically fit and a real go-getter;

• You have command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.

• A work/study agreement for 40 hours per week;

• A fully paid training program including the necessary safety training;

• 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days on a full-time basis, so that you have sufficient time to relax or go on holiday;

• Everything you need to perform your work well, including a laptop, phone, and your own work van equipped with all necessary materials and tools;

• A good and familial atmosphere at a family business where people come first. We work hard, but overtime is not the standard. A healthy work-life balance is always our priority;

• When Siers makes a profit, you share in it by means of a profit-sharing scheme.
