Every year, an average of 3 superyacht hulls leave the Scheepswerf Slob shipyard. These extraordinary, custom-made yachts distinguish themselves through the quality of construction, engineering, and finishing.
As an employee of our shipyard, you will make an important contribution. We build these superyachts using innovative techniques. Will you come to work on solid steel and aluminum yachts?
You will join as an apprentice in the Ironwork or Welding (steel or aluminum) department, Mechanical Engineering Fit-out, or Piping. Colleagues from departments such as: ironworker, welder, pipefitter, plumber, grinder, stretcher, fitter, etc., work here. Together with them, you will build the steel hull or the aluminum superstructure of the yacht. You will do this at one of our three locations in Papendrecht. As a pipefitter, you will make pipes for the fuel and oil supply. You will also make pipes for the cooling system and the exhaust system. Additionally, you will help with the placement and mounting of pumps in the yacht's engine room. You will also work on mounting engines there. As an ironworker or welder, you will build the steel hull from the very beginning. You will work on small parts in pre-processing. After that, you will work on section construction. Ultimately, you will work on board the hull. In your work, you will receive guidance from experienced colleagues. For questions regarding your education, you can always turn to your practical instructor.
This is what you will do as an Apprentice Allround Production Technician (BBL) | Papendrecht
You will receive an apprenticeship agreement for the duration of the Allround Production Technician training.
The training lasts a maximum of 3 years. You will work four days per week at the shipyard. Additionally, you will attend school one day per week. During the lessons at school, you will learn, among other things, how to read and understand technical drawings. You will also obtain your VCA certification. Alongside the theory, you will practice technical skills at the shipyard such as drilling, welding, tack welding, and measuring. Do you have no experience in this field? Then we recommend that you first follow one year of BOL. After that, you can directly receive an apprenticeship agreement through Scheepswerf Slob.
