In approximately sixty different plants, petroleum products and basic chemicals are made based on crude oil. The most well-known of these are gasoline and diesel, but also kerosene and LPG, for example.

A strong and reliable electricity grid is indispensable for the reliable operation of this refinery. The management, maintenance, and operation of this electricity grid is the role of the Generation and Distribution team.

For this team, we are looking for High Voltage Maintenance Technicians Generation & Distribution (G&D)

The G&D team is involved in the electricity transition. Within our team, we are looking for all-round maintenance technicians who want to contribute to a stable electricity grid for our refinery.

In the position of Maintenance Technician, you will be engaged in preventive and corrective maintenance in large and small projects. Because we strive within Shell to perform as much work as possible ourselves, the knowledge within our team in the field of generators, transformers, cables, switches, and protection relays remains high. The installations are subdivided into 138 high-voltage stations distributed across the Pernis and Europoort refineries.

Most work is carried out together with a colleague, which makes the work not only more fun, but also safer.
Together with a colleague, you will go out to perform the following tasks:

• Locating, analyzing, and resolving faults

• Testing, inspecting, maintaining, and improving installations

• Thinking along and advising on improvement projects and the optimization of installations and maintenance

Your work package is very broad and challenging, partly because you will deal with different voltage levels, mainly 400V, 3kV, 6kV, 25kV, and 66kV. You will work with old and new installations, from 1950 to the present.

This work requires creativity, strong electrotechnical knowledge, and a good overview of complex systems. We offer you the opportunity to develop yourself even further in these techniques, both through training and by working in a team with a great deal of experience and knowledge.

Since safety is our priority, we also expect from you active participation in safety, health, and environmental instructions, training, and toolbox meetings. At least as important is working according to the correct working methods and handling equipment, tools, and hazardous substances in the correct manner.
