Stage - Industrial Design Defence

IHC Defence develops innovative systems that contribute to the protection of Dutch interests at sea. In these projects, we bring together decades of expertise from offshore, dredging, and underwater technology with new applications within the defense domain. For one of our ongoing development trajectories, we are looking for an Industrial Designer who wants to contribute to the development of an innovative maritime vehicle.

As an Industrial Designer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary design team working on the conceptual design and the development of prototypes. You will ensure that user experience, functionality, and design are given a full place in the design process from the very beginning, and you will have the space to actually see your ideas reflected in the final result.

• Analyzing and improving existing conceptual designs from user, system, and design perspectives;
• Developing proposals that improve the user experience, functionality, and performance of the system;
• Making adjustments to the design in terms of styling and appearance;
• Collaborating with different disciplines within the project, such as engineering, execution, and project management.

This (graduation) internship offers plenty of room to show initiative and to put improvement ideas directly into practice.

• You are following the IDE Master Graduation Project at TU Delft or similar;
• You have an affinity for complex technical or mechanical engineering systems;
• You are analytical, proactive, and practical-minded;
• You enjoy collaborating with different disciplines;
• You are communicatively skilled in both Dutch and English;
• You can work independently and take responsibility for your activities;
• You are available from September 2026.

Please note: Because this Master's program takes place within IHC Defence, a security screening is part of the procedure.
