What we're looking for

Demonstrable experience as a shopfitter / assembler in a spool shop or similar environment;
Experience with prefab pipe spool fabrication (sawing, fitting, tack welding);
You read and interpret isometric drawings (ISO) independently and correctly;
Insight into offsets, rotations, and directions within piping;
Experience with TIG tack welding at a good and consistent level;
Understanding of material behavior (steel, stainless steel, Duplex, CuNiFer);
You work accurately and have a first-time-right mentality;
You know how to assemble without stress and prevent distortion;
You can independently use measuring tools (including tape measure, square, protractor);
You are practically minded, independent, and have a strong work mentality;
You contribute to a positive and collegial working atmosphere.

The role

Within the maritime and industrial sector, piping is essential: without high-quality piping systems, there is no reliable propulsion, cooling, or hydraulics.

At IHC Piping in Sliedrecht (part of Royal IHC), we build the backbone of impressive ships, yachts, and industrial installations every day. From stainless steel to CuNiFer and Duplex: we deliver quality under the most demanding conditions.

As a shopfitter / assembler, you play a key role in this. You independently assemble piping into perfectly fitting spools - accurately, stress-free, and right the first time.

What you'll do

In this position, you are responsible for the prefabrication and assembly of piping based on isometric drawings and technical specifications.

You work independently on sawing, fitting, and tack welding pipe spools and ensure that all parts connect exactly according to the specified tolerances. With your craftsmanship, you deliver a product that is immediately ready for further finishing.

You work on diverse projects: from naval vessels and yacht building to innovative applications such as hydrogen installations. At the same time, you are part of a close-knit team where collaboration, direct communication, and a good atmosphere are central.

Prefabricating pipe spools (sawing, fitting, and tack welding);
Independently assembling piping based on isometric drawings;
Fitting, straightening, and aligning pipe parts (elbows, flanges, T-pieces);
Performing TIG tack welding with consistent quality and stress-free results;
Working according to ISO/DIN and IHC-specific tolerances;
Checking dimensions (center-to-center, offsets, angles) and quality;
Preventing distortion through correct welding sequence and working methods;
Working with materials such as steel, stainless steel, Duplex, Super Duplex, and CuNiFer;
Ensuring a safe, clean, and organized workplace.
