The role

About us

At Practical, you help entrepreneurs make their business stronger, more sustainable, and future-proof by combining smart software with specialist knowledge. Practical is a leading firm in the field of Payroll with over 25 years of experience and various multinationals as clients. As a full-service administration and advisory firm, we are affiliated with NOAB and recognized as a tax office. We are multiple winners of the Yuki Awards (including the Customer Intimacy Award) and are among the best-performing Yuki partners in the Netherlands. Our payroll administration team works with Nmbrs, one of the most modern payroll tools, so that you can truly make a difference with smart software.

We work closely with our clients and think proactively about their future, in order to subsequently realize successes together. Every day you meet new stories: the start-up taking its first steps, the family business that has been growing for generations, or the ambitious scale-up that is going to conquer the world.

With us, you work in a vibrant environment where collaboration and growth are central. You work in an energetic team that challenges, strengthens, and inspires one another. You get plenty of opportunities to develop yourself and determine your own direction.

You get the chance to work on diverse projects, where your knowledge, insights, and ideas make the difference. Together with a close-knit team of dedicated colleagues, we build not only smart solutions for our clients but also a working environment where you feel at home.

The role

As a Payroll Administrator at Practical, you are an indispensable link for our clients. You ensure that the payroll administration is correct: from payslips and pension schemes to the payroll tax returns. Because we work extensively for fast-growing companies, scale-ups, and larger organizations in various sectors (such as hospitality and consultancy firms), you will receive a varied client portfolio and plenty of opportunities to broaden your knowledge in practice. Your role goes beyond numbers alone. You are the primary contact for questions regarding employment conditions, collective labor agreements (CAOs), and personnel files, whereby you know how to translate complex subject matter into clear and practical advice.

Together with colleagues from different disciplines, you work on the best solutions for our clients. You think proactively about improving processes and thus contribute

to a more efficient, future-oriented service. In this versatile role, you combine accuracy with customer orientation and receive plenty of room to deepen your knowledge and further develop yourself.

Who are you?

  • You enjoy helping entrepreneurs and their teams further, have a proactive attitude, and are curious about how processes can be smarter and more efficient;

  • You have completed a PDL education (Payroll Administration) or wish to obtain this;

  • You have at least 2 years of experience with payroll administration;

  • You have knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and collective labor agreements (CAOs);

  • You work accurately and can handle deadlines well;

  • You are customer-oriented and possess communicative skills.

  • Do you have less experience than mentioned above but do have the ambition to grow quickly and develop yourself? Then we invite you to respond and we offer you the right guidance and training!

What do you get in return?

  • A good salary and nice secondary employment conditions including pension, bonus, and profit sharing;

  • Flexibility to work partly from home and you can work at one of our offices in Amsterdam or Utrecht.

  • Training and development opportunities, so that you can grow in your career.

  • A professional and well-collaborating team in which fun, attention for one another, and personal development are central.

  • Working at a fast-growing international firm that holds innovation, sustainability, and quality in high regard.
