The role

Behind every major live broadcast stands a team that keeps everything running smoothly. You will be at the heart of that organization, maintaining an overview when things get busy, and working together with your colleagues to ensure our productions are arranged to perfection.

(Hilversum | 32 hours per week | CAO contract: 1 January 2027 to 1 October 2027 | max. 3,185.- based on 36 hours)

When something important happens, the NOS is there. But some events deserve more than a short news report. From Liberation Day to Pink Saturday, from King's Day to the Commemoration of the Slavery Past. NOS Events creates extensive broadcasts around major events and brings them into the homes of millions of people.

The NOS is one of the largest journalistic organizations in the Netherlands. We show what is happening, provide context, and make our productions accessible to a large and broad audience.

What you'll do

As an assistant producer, you will work together with a team of four senior producers. In addition, you will work together with the editorial team, direction, and reporters on our projects. Together with colleagues, you will look at what is needed to translate journalistic ideas into a production. You will ensure that everything behind the scenes is well arranged. From the first ideas at the desk to the live broadcast on location and everything in between.

You maintain an overview, switch between different people and organizations, and ensure that questions and appointments end up in the right place.

In short; you will be making many calls, making many lists, and ticking them off. And when you are on location, you will easily reach 20,000 steps.

At our department, in addition to live productions, we also make podcasts and online productions. You will be primarily involved in the live broadcasts and online productions.

Nice to meet you

But we make more than just major (live) broadcasts. We also make podcasts and online productions about events that matter. Sometimes grand and immersive, sometimes personal and close-up. No production is the same. You will work with different teams, at special locations, and often in an environment where many things happen at once. That is exactly what makes the work so dynamic.

What we offer you

Why would you choose a career at the NOS? Because we are an inspiring workplace where your contribution makes a difference! Working at the NOS is interesting, socially relevant, and fun.

At the NOS, we want to be a reflection of society in both our reporting and our workforce. Do you contribute to this? Then we would love for you to come work with us.

Why we love working here

The most beautiful productions
You will contribute to a very diverse palette of productions. Whether it is King's Day, Summer Carnival, or Prince's Day, you will be there.

Your impact is great
Just imagine: everything you work on can be heard or seen by millions of Dutch people. The impact can be enormous. That is quite an honor for your work!

Who you are

You love organizing and arranging. You are someone who quickly sees what is needed, establishes contact easily, and gets energy from getting things done.

Experience in television or media is a plus, but certainly not necessary. Perhaps you have developed your organizational talent elsewhere: in hospitality, at events, during your studies, in an association, or in another environment where you had to arrange many things at once.

Even when plans change, you remain calm. You set priorities, take action, and ensure that colleagues know where they stand.

You don't have to be able to do everything yet. We find it especially important that you are curious, take initiative, want to learn, and dare to ask questions.

What you bring

  • You are an organizational talent and enjoy arranging things.

  • You switch easily between different tasks and different people.

  • You enjoy working together and can communicate well.

  • You work accurately, maintain an overview, and do what you agree to.

  • You like helping colleagues and think along in solutions.

  • You remain calm when a schedule suddenly changes or when it is busy.

  • You want to develop yourself and enjoy learning new things.

  • You are discreet.

  • You communicate clearly and speak and write good Dutch.

  • You possess a driver's license.
