The role
Sales Stage - Nestlé Purina PetCare
Do you want to discover how strong brands win on the shop floor and with the customer? At Nestlé Purina PetCare, you will get the chance to participate right in the commercial heart of our organization. You will work together with Sales, Category Management, Marketing, and our retail partners and see firsthand how data, customer plans, and strong execution come together.
At Purina, we believe that pets and people are better together. Our passion for nutrition, animals, and their owners drives us every day to make the best of ourselves. We are a close-knit team that works together, has fun, and supports one another. With brands chosen daily by many pet owners, we build sustainable category growth together with our customers. But Nestlé is more than what you see on the shelf: we are committed worldwide to sustainability, health, and innovation. Working at Nestlé means contributing to a better future, on the table and beyond.
What you'll do
What will you do?
At the Sales department of Nestlé Purina, we are looking for a new intern starting February 1, 2027.
Do you want to learn how commercial strategy is translated into concrete plans for customers in grocery, specialist, and e-commerce? Then we are looking for you!
As a Sales intern, you will be fully involved within the commercial team. You will support growth plans with customers, work on customer and channel issues, create analyses that lead to sharp insights, and help translate plans into strong execution. You will receive responsibility for your own projects and will be mentored by an experienced colleague within Sales.
Your duties include:
- Analyzing sales, market, and promotion data and translating insights into concrete commercial opportunities;
- Supporting the preparation of customer meetings, business reviews, and commercial presentations;
- Collaborating on customer and channel plans regarding assortment, promotions, introductions, and execution;
- Monitoring commercial agreements and actions and ensuring clear and timely follow-up;
- Coordinating with colleagues from Category Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and e-commerce;
- Independently executing your own project in which you demonstrably add value to the Sales team.
In this way, you will gain a broad view of commercial decision-making within FMCG: from analysis and customer strategy to the visibility and availability of our brands on the shelf and online.
Who are you?
You are commercially curious, analytical, and energetic. You enjoy working with numbers, but also understand that good collaboration makes the difference. You take initiative when you see opportunities, work carefully, and know how to distinguish between main and secondary matters. You communicate easily with various stakeholders and dare to contribute ideas with a fresh perspective.
Additionally, we are looking for:
- An HBO or WO student, preferably in a commercial, business administration, economic, or marketing-oriented program;
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages;
- Affinity with FMCG, retail, sales, and commercial issues;
- A good foundation in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint;
- A proactive, independent, and result-oriented working attitude;
- Availability for 40 hours per week for a period of 5 to 6 months.
What do we offer you?
The vacancy offers more than just a challenge:
- A full-time internship (40 hours per week) for 6 months;
- 10 vacation days based on 6 months;
- An internship allowance of €800 per month based on full-time;
- Travel allowance;
- Good food, good life activities, such as daily free fruit and vegetables and a healthy and varied food selection in our restaurant;
- A work laptop and the possibility to work hybrid;
- A Nestlé Internship Training Plan focused on your development;
- Personal guidance and space to take responsibility for your own projects;
- A pleasant, open, and informal working environment with driven colleagues, Purina drinks, and team activities;
- A close-knit intern community with fun activities.
In addition to hard work and learning a lot, the social side of an internship should, of course, not be missing. There is always room for a coffee break, exercising together, or a team activity. You will also receive a buddy: an experienced colleague whom you can turn to with your experiences and questions.
And finally
At Nestlé, respect is central: for each other, for differences, and for what makes us unique. We believe it is important that everyone feels welcome and at home at Nestlé. Have you become just as enthusiastic as we are? Apply now!
