What we're looking for

  • demonstrable experience with information security and compliance, for example with ISO27001 or NEN7510
  • experience with risk management and audits, affinity with translating policy into practical work instructions
  • strong analytical skills and a good sense of structure and accuracy
  • good communication skills in Dutch and English, both oral and written
  • a proactive attitude, you ask questions, constantly build up new knowledge, and dare to give advice

Nice to have

  • practical experience with AI technology, such as GenAI and LLMs, coding assistants, ML, or data science
  • knowledge of or interest in ISO/IEC 42001, the EU AI Act, and the latest AI publications such as papers and frameworks
  • experience working in or with a GRC or workflow tool, preferably ServiceNow or similar
  • experience within a large organization, critical infrastructure, or in a regulated environment

What you'll get

  • A salary of €4,488 to €9,337 gross per month (scale 62)
  • A 36-hour work week.
  • 144 hours of statutory leave (based on full-time employment) + extra leave depending on age (at least one week).

The role

  • Contribute to the building of the Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) and ensure that NS can scale up with AI responsibly.
  • Make AI risks transparent and demonstrably manageable, so that NS remains in control even with new applications.

What you'll do

You are at the beginning of a new field with plenty of room to specialize in AI governance and AI security. In this role, you will contribute to building our Artificial Intelligence Management System according to the ISO/IEC 42001 standard. We are implementing this AIMS in ServiceNow IRM, in conjunction with our Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) and ISO27001.

  • manage and further develop the AIMS in the second line so that governance follows innovation
  • perform operational compliance assessments and signal deviations from the AI policy
  • report on progress and risks and co-write guidelines for AI governance and AI security
  • guide the establishment, improvement, and documentation of technical and organizational measures in, among others, the NS AI Risk Framework (NSAIRF) and the NS Cybersecurity Framework (NSCF)

About the company & team

You won't do this alone. In this role: you work closely with the Corporate AI Officer, to whom you report functionally; you build on the collaboration with enterprise architecture and platform services; you coordinate intensively with DevOps and business teams in data and IT operations; you are part of the multidisciplinary second-line cybersecurity department

We do not expect you to be an AI expert already. AI governance and AI security are fully in development and follow super-fast technological innovations. We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in security and compliance who wants to develop into a specialist in this new domain. You will be given the space, guidance, and access to training for this.

We are primarily looking for someone who is strong in compliance and security, enjoys creating structure, and is eager to sink their teeth into a new field. A strong affinity for GenAI and agentic AI innovations motivates you to keep learning!
