The role

What will you do?

In the coming years, MUMC+ is facing a powerful professional development for nursing that must be expressed through leading-edge nursing.

As a Care Team Leader, you play a crucial role in developing leading-edge nursing and translating this into the daily care provided to our patients. In this role, you serve as a role model. You act as the first point of contact for your team and external partners. In this role, you will participate in the care of our patients for approximately 30% of your working week.

Additionally, you support your team of healthcare professionals to realize leading-edge nursing. This stands for the best possible care for our patients that is continuously improved. In doing so, you 'unburden' your team of healthcare professionals by continuously improving the professional working environment together with them. An important goal here is the further development of professional autonomy. This allows nurses to let their passion for care speak, ensuring they are competent and authorized to continue developing and have the resources needed to tackle increasingly complex care. Leading all of this is our nursing professional model.

This Care Team Leader position is a new leadership role in our care process. As Care Team Leader, you will help shape the transformational leadership so that leading-edge nursing is actually realized. With the new Care Team Leader position, we also want to address the improvement of career opportunities for our nursing talent and offer more job satisfaction and autonomy. Here, talent, not education, is the starting point.

What does your work environment look like?

The vacancy concerns Nursing Department D2 Delivery Room/Maternity. You will work in close collaboration with your colleagues from D2, the NICU, and the department head. The D2 team consists of 50 nurses and support services. We work closely with doctors, clinical midwives, and primary care.

What do we ask of you?

You have completed a healthcare education at HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level. You have more than 3 years of work experience. You have completed a management training or are willing to do so.

You have experience as a healthcare worker. Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following competencies and skills:

Competencies:
1..Collaboration – cooperative behavior: you contribute to a collective result, even when the collaboration concerns a subject that is not of direct personal interest.
2. Individual-oriented leadership: you provide direction and guidance to an employee in the context of their task fulfillment and development.
3. Group-oriented leadership/connecting leadership: you provide direction and guidance to a group.
4. (Academic) Entrepreneurship: you identify opportunities for existing and new services, taking financial effects into account. You dare to take risks in doing so.
5. Flexibility: you continue to act efficiently by adapting to changing circumstances, tasks, responsibilities and/or people.
6. Goal- and result-orientation: you are actively focused on achieving results and objectives and have the willingness to intervene in the event of disappointing results. You are able to work project-based.
7. Responsibility: you take responsibility for your own actions and those of colleagues within the organization.
8. Customer orientation: you investigate the wishes and needs of the customer and act accordingly, taking into account the costs and benefits for your own organization.
9. Quality orientation: you maintain high quality standards and strive for continuous improvement and assurance of quality (of patient care and the professional working environment).
Self-development: you acquire insight into your own identity, values, strengths and weaknesses, interests and ambitions and, based on this, you take action to further develop your competencies if necessary.
