Senior OpenShift Engineer

As an OpenShift Engineer, you will get the chance to work with advanced technologies, collaborate with diverse teams in various sectors, and contribute to important infrastructure projects that challenge and strengthen your skills. Building the Container Platform is your domain, together with your colleagues. In this area, you are the go-to person for first- and second-line support. The expert everyone turns to when they have questions. You help them with pleasure and drive. Your problem-solving ability comes in handy in collaboration with the development teams, and when providing technical guidance on Container onboarding and server security projects. This way, you ensure together that the configuration is always up-to-date and secure. This also means you are vigilant regarding the performance and availability of the IT infrastructure. You analyze potential problems and propose improvements and solutions. When necessary, you dive completely into the complex architecture and security. You also provide occasional third-line support to IT infrastructure teams, if needed.

The Role

Your home base is Soesterberg, or another defense location in the Netherlands. We offer flexible working, where we expect you to be in the office about 2 days per week on average to collaborate with the team.

Important to know: to be allowed to work for Defense, you must possess Dutch nationality and a Dutch passport. You must also be able to speak and write Dutch.

Who You Are

• At least 8 years of experience with scripting or programming

• Critical eye: due to your engineering experience, you remain critical of potential opportunities.

• You have practical experience with: Linux Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Docker TCP Networking.

• Communication skills: you enjoy working in a team, but you can also work perfectly independently and communicate your progress well.

• Onboarding nodes in OpenShift

• Cluster OpenShift system integration.

• IAAS and Cloud.

• Ansible or Bamboo system configuration tools.

• Scripting in Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Ruby and/or Power CLI ITIL processes.
