What we're looking for

  • You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking and preferably a completed education in the field of ICT;
  • You have relevant work experience in a similar role within Linux, platform, or infrastructure management;
  • You possess technical knowledge of datacenter and infrastructure environments, including storage, networking, and virtualization;
  • You have demonstrable knowledge and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) / CoreOs
  • You have experience managing Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift environments;
  • You have knowledge of the most important OpenShift and Kubernetes concepts, such as Pods, Deployments, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Operators, RBAC, and Persistent Volumes;
  • You have experience with container technology, for example Podman, Docker, and/or other OCI-compliant container technology;
  • You have experience performing OpenShift lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, version management, and troubleshooting;
  • You have experience monitoring and analyzing the availability, performance, and capacity of OpenShift and Linux environments;
  • You have knowledge of OpenShift networking, storage, and security;
  • You have experience with scripting and automation, for example with Ansible, Bash, and/or Python;
  • You have a strong drive to automate, standardize, and simplify management tasks;
  • You have knowledge of ITIL 4 and understand the principles of incident, change, and problem management;
  • You are analytically strong, work independently, and are able to investigate technical problems independently and resolve them structurally;
  • You are willing to continuously further develop your knowledge in the areas of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Linux, and container technology.
  • You possess an RHCSA and/or RHCE certification;

  • You possess a relevant Red Hat OpenShift certification, for example EX280 - Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, or comparable demonstrable knowledge and experience; You have experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform;
  • You have experience with OpenShift Operators and Operator Lifecycle Management (OLM);
  • You have knowledge of OpenShift security, including RBAC, Security Contexts, NetworkPolicies, Secrets, and certificate management;
  • You have experience with OpenShift Storage, for example OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) or comparable storage solutions;
  • You have experience with monitoring and logging, for example Prometheus, Grafana, and the OpenShift logging stack;
  • You have experience with Git and CI/CD and are familiar with automated deployment processes;
  • You have knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), for example Terraform;
  • You have completed basic training in Agile/Scrum and/or have experience working in an Agile environment;
  • You have experience managing OpenShift in a hybrid or cloud environment.

The Role

  • You act proactively to create, monitor, and keep up-to-date a stable, reliable, and secure OpenShift platform and the underlying ICT infrastructure;
  • You manage and maintain Red Hat OpenShift environments and ensure optimal availability, performance, and manageability of the platform;
  • You support projects and improvement initiatives, such as container onboarding, platform development, and server and platform security;
  • You ensure manageable, standardized, and scalable environments and contribute to the further professionalization of platform management;
  • You support users, development, and application teams in identifying and resolving incidents, technical problems, and security vulnerabilities within the OpenShift platform;
  • You take on incidents, outages, and technical changes and ensure correct and structural handling;
  • You monitor the availability, performance, capacity, and stability of the OpenShift platform and the underlying infrastructure;
  • You analyze potential problems, perform root-cause analyses, and actively contribute ideas for structural improvements;
  • You contribute to the lifecycle management of the platform, including patching, upgrades, and version management of OpenShift and the underlying components;
  • You delve into the architecture, networking, storage, and security of the OpenShift platform where necessary;
  • You contribute to implementing and maintaining security measures, including RBAC, security policies, certificates, and network segmentation;
  • You automate and standardize management tasks wherever possible, for example with Ansible, Bash, and/or other relevant tooling;
  • You collaborate with development, application, and IT infrastructure teams and provide occasional support for more complex technical issues;
  • You actively contribute to the further development and professionalization of the OpenShift platform and the associated management processes.
