Do you want to play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of international import streams via one of Europe's most important logistical hubs? For our Import Gateway Hub in Air Logistics at Schiphol, we are looking for an accurate, proactive, and communicative Import Gateway Hub Specialist. Someone who gets energy from a dynamic operation, can switch gears quickly, and enjoys collaborating within a close-knit team.

As an Import Gateway Hub Specialist, you are the pivot in coordinating all trucking activities surrounding import / transit shipments. You ensure that flows of goods are executed in a timely, correct manner and according to agreed transit times.

You have intensive daily contact with ground handlers at Schiphol, (Onair) truck planning of carriers, warehouse, and internal teams. Together, you ensure that every shipment continues its way without problems. You work within an operational team in rotating shifts, fitting the 24/7 dynamics of air freight.

You monitor the progress of every shipment, signal deviations in a timely manner, and handle them professionally. In doing so, you ensure error-free processing of documentation and system data, fully in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and internal quality standards. This is a full-time job, based at Schiphol.

• Coordinating trucking: planning, organizing, and monitoring all trucking activities for import / transit shipments
• Alignment with operations: maintaining intensive contact with ground handlers, carrier planning, and the warehouse.
• Monitoring shipments: actively following up on shipments and intervening quickly in case of deviations.
• Transport optimization: applying smart route planning, consolidation, and capacity optimization. Additional Data & cost management: ensuring correct registration of shipments, costs, and financial data.
• Providing documentation: preparing and checking correct transport documents.
• Maintaining communication: liaising with suppliers, gateway teams, and Customer/Operational Care teams.
• Assessing instructions: checking whether customer instructions align with regulations, rates, and routing.
• Monitoring performance: monitoring carrier performance and escalating where necessary. Additional Process Improvement: actively contributing to continuous improvements and new ways of working.

• Experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain (pref: air freight and/or road environment)
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented attitude
• Stress resistance and the ability to maintain an overview in a dynamic environment
• Accurate way of working and attention to detail

• Willingness to work in shifts within a team-oriented operation
