The role

The audit world is changing faster than ever. Artificial Intelligence, automation, and data analytics are ensuring that audits become increasingly smarter, more efficient, and more insight-driven. As a result, the role of the auditor is shifting from performing routine tasks to interpreting insights, assessing risks, and applying professional judgment.

As an Audit Associate Financial Services, you will contribute to the audit of banks, insurers, and other financial institutions from day one. You will get to know these organizations from the inside and gain insight into a sector where financial reporting, risk management, and regulation are closely interconnected. You will analyze financial processes, investigate risks, and contribute to the assessment of the reliability of financial reporting.

In addition, you will make use of modern technologies and AI-supported audit tools. You will learn how to utilize large amounts of data to identify patterns and anomalies, while continuing to think critically about the outcomes. Technology helps you reach insights faster, but ultimately your professional judgment makes the difference.

Within Financial Services, you will work in multidisciplinary teams for large and complex organizations. You will receive responsibility early on, have direct contact with clients, and work together with colleagues with different expertise. In this way, you not only develop your knowledge of audit, but also build specialized knowledge of the financial sector.

Furthermore, we invest heavily in your development. Through training, practical experience, on-the-job guidance, and the RA (Chartered Accountant) track, you will develop yourself into a future-proof auditor with specialized knowledge of Financial Services.

Good to know: the earliest possible start date for this position is 1 September 2027.

What you'll do

  • Thorough understanding of business processes, risks, and internal control measures across diverse organizations.
  • Performing audit procedures and preparing clear, high-quality audit documentation.
  • Applying AI, data analytics, and audit tools to identify risks, deviations, and trends.
  • Conducting interviews with clients and translating findings into well-founded conclusions.
  • Critically assessing financial and non-financial information and professionally challenging assumptions and outcomes.
  • Analyzing complex issues and effectively brainstorming about them with colleagues, managers, and clients.
  • Actively contributing to the further innovation and digitalization of audit practice.
  • Developing knowledge in the fields of audit, reporting, technology, and relevant laws and regulations
