What you'll get
We offer you a great internship. The Onboarding Program ensures that, as a new intern, you quickly feel part of the team. There is plenty of room to learn and grow. In both environments, you can gain a wealth of experience. Naturally, this is under the excellent guidance of your internship supervisor and close colleagues.
During your internship, it is not only about gaining substantive knowledge and practical experience, but you also actively work on your professional development and expanding your network. CASt, the Club ABN AMRO Interns, organizes both substantive and social (online) events. Additionally, CASt organizes monthly Go & See's to get acquainted with different departments within ABN AMRO, allowing you to get to know the bank even better. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your hard skills through the ABN AMRO Academy via challenging e-learnings. The internship allowance for an mbo, hbo, or wo internship is €750 per month (based on a 36-hour work week).
The role
Are you analytical and independent, and do you feel at home in a complex environment with many stakeholders? Then we have a place where you can effectively combine substance and collaboration. Within the Client Unit Chief Risk Office (CU CRO) of Wealth Management (WM), we work on strengthening risk management at the heart of WM. As an independent risk partner, we support the business in achieving sustainable and profitable growth while simultaneously maintaining oversight of the key Financial and Non-Financial Risks.
We are looking for a professional who can maintain oversight, is communicatively skilled, and can think two steps ahead. In this role, you contribute to the further development and execution of the WM risk control framework and support the team in its role as a partner for the business, Risk Management, and our colleagues in the countries/entities.
What you'll do
By doing your internship with the WM CU CRO team, you will work alongside experts in various risk areas, both financial and non-financial risks. Within the team, you actively contribute to an open risk dialogue and continuous improvement. This means you ask critical questions, think in solutions, and constantly strive to deliver high quality in the reports and advice we provide to the WM MT. It is a great opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making within the business, where you view risks from a holistic perspective and discuss them with stakeholders in both the first and second lines. You support the execution and improvement of the Risk Control Framework, including risk assessments (such as MCS/VOR), Change Risk Assessments, issue management, monitoring, and reporting.
Who are you?
Are you curious enough to investigate, experiment, and learn what is best for the client and the employee? Can you also work independently and proactively, and are you not afraid to share your advice with others? Then we are looking for you! Furthermore;
- Do you have a university (WO) level of education;
- Do you have excellent command of the Dutch & English language;
- Are you proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel;
- Are you looking for an internship starting from September 2026 for at least 20 weeks;
- Are you independent & communicatively skilled;
- Are you available at least 4 days per week.
Are you enthusiastic?
We need new people who can make a difference. People like you. Because there is still a world to win.
