• A completed university degree (WO).
• 4 to 8 years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in (jersey) tops or textiles.
• Extensive experience with international procurement processes and negotiations, preferably with suppliers in the Far East (Asia).
• Knowledge of cost structure in textiles and experience with design to value.
• Experience with a wide range of procurement tools and technologies.
• Excellent English and Dutch communication skills.

Purchasing at HEMA is constantly in motion. We have sharpened our purchasing strategy and are reorganizing the department, with clusters per product group and a Center of Excellence. Purchasing tasks that currently still lie partly with category management will be brought together within purchasing. Within the fashion cluster, you will be responsible for all jersey tops.

You translate the purchasing strategy into concrete negotiation strategies for a category with large volumes and many repeat purchases. You drive towards an optimal cost of goods sold (COGS) through data-driven negotiations, supplier consolidation, and design to value, for example by looking smartly at materials, specifications, and production. You manage sourcing and contracting, build long-term relationships with your core suppliers, and monitor performance on quality, availability, speed to market, innovation, and sustainability.

You drive and report on the ESG performance of suppliers. You work according to the integrated Category Management 2.0 approach, together with category management, the Center of Excellence, and our procurement offices abroad. And you contribute to department-wide projects and mentor assistants.
