Artificial Intelligence (AI) Internship (start October/November)

• Development: You are part of the central AI team and develop innovative (AI) solutions, such as applications, skills, workflows, and other automations that contribute to smarter and more efficient work processes.
• Analysis: You investigate organizational issues, analyze problems, and map out needs and objectives. Based on this, you identify opportunities where AI can add value. You translate complex information into clear advice and actionable solutions.
• Data & Automation: You collect, structure, and analyze data to obtain valuable insights and automate recurring tasks using AI tools.
• Implementation & Optimization: You actively collaborate with colleagues to ensure the solutions we develop truly land in daily practice. You contribute ideas regarding the right implementation and, after going live, look at how we can optimize applications to better support teams in their daily activities.

You contribute to challenging and often cross-functional projects within the AI team, such as optimizing work processes and developing forecasting and analytics solutions using AI. You will join a team that is at the forefront of innovation, automation, and data-driven working within HEMA.

• You are pursuing a HBO (higher professional education) or university degree in the direction of IT (Software Engineering), Artificial Intelligence, Information Science, Business IT & Management, or a similar field of study.
• You are looking for a working internship or a graduation internship and are prepared to start as soon as possible. There is also the possibility to carry out an assignment or research during the internship, provided this falls within the sphere of influence and goals of the AI team.
• You are fluent in the Dutch and/or English language, both spoken and written.
• You have basic knowledge of AI tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and of programming languages such as Python and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with creating AI applications ("agents") and/or semi-automatic workflows is a plus.
• You are curious, enthusiastic, eager to learn, proactive, and want to develop new knowledge and skills in the field of innovation and technology.
• You have an affinity with technology and enjoy coming up with and testing creative solutions.
• You are motivated, work hard, and feel comfortable both in a team and independently. In doing so, you actively contribute to the successful execution of projects within the AI team.
