Skills
Hedin Automotive Nederland is hiring for this role in several places. This vacancy is in the Netherlands.
This job advert was originally written in Dutch.
The role
What can you expect when you work with us? This, and more.
More impact. Thanks to you, even the most complex fault is uncovered, from software to high-voltage issues and everything in between.
More job satisfaction. Great colleagues? Check. The confidence to do what you are good at? Check. Being at the forefront of one of Europe's largest automotive dealer companies? Check check check!
More opportunities. To grow. To keep challenging yourself. And to contribute ideas for innovation.
More for you. We don't say that for nothing.
Your job as a technical specialist / diagnostic technician
It is precisely where the technology becomes challenging that you come into play. You work with all kinds of cars, from petrol to (fully) electric, and provide targeted solutions for various faults, so that customers can step back into their (commercial) vehicle with confidence.
With diagnostic equipment, you go into depth: analyzing fault codes, reading out systems, and uncovering the cause within the onboard computer, sensors, wiring, and other electrical components.
In doing so, you dive into manuals, wiring diagrams, and other technical information from the manufacturer to find the solution.
From software updates to learning procedures and calibrations: you perform them so that vehicle systems work together perfectly again. You record all your findings and activities in clear reports.
The fun part is that you have plenty of room to brainstorm with colleagues in the workshop. And that you—if necessary—join in on customer conversations to explain technical questions clearly.
Extra variety: you also perform APK inspections. Are you not yet an APK inspector? Then you can follow the training to become an APK inspector at our expense.
The engine behind our success? You and your colleagues!
At the Venlo location, you will work together with 19 dedicated colleagues. Whomever you approach, you will always find someone with a passion for cars. Is there a brand-new model in the showroom? There is a good chance we will all be standing around it. We are proud of what we do. And we think in possibilities. Because we certainly have courage: to try new things, to exceed expectations, and to continue developing ourselves every day.
At Hedin Automotive, you get more
More than you expect. Because besides a passion for cars, we primarily have a heart for our colleagues. A shiny car is fantastic. But a happy colleague? That is what truly adds luster to our work. Count on:
A job of 38 hours per week, with a salary that seriously rewards your knowledge, experience, and craftsmanship and stands above the collective labor agreement. We would prefer to welcome you full-time, but we are also happy to discuss 32 or 36 hours.
24 vacation days (for full-time) and the option to purchase an additional 64 leave hours every year.
Plenty of growth and development opportunities, including through training at brand importers or vocational schools that suit your position.
Great extras: such as discounts on the purchase, maintenance, and insurance of your car with us, €15 discount per month on your gym membership, collective health insurance, and a good pension scheme.
An employer that thinks along with you. About working hours, schedules, growth opportunities, and more. And of course, you will receive a pleasant onboarding process and good guidance.
A workplace in a modern workshop, where you work with good tools and equipment. Your safety is our number one priority; naturally, you will receive the correct personal protective equipment to work safely on complex (high-voltage) vehicles.
With this knowledge and these skills, you hit the gas
You...
Have an MBO-4 diploma as a technical specialist for vehicles and mobile machinery, or an MBO-3 diploma as an all-round technician for vehicles and mobile machinery (first-class automotive mechanic), supplemented with relevant brand or diagnostic training.
Have experience as a technical specialist or diagnostic technician, or extensive experience as a first-class automotive mechanic and the enthusiasm to develop yourself in this role.
Have a driver's license.
Speak Dutch and English, so that you can collaborate safely and pleasantly with colleagues and can read technical documentation that is often only available in English.
Get energy from complex (fully electric) automotive technology, keep searching until you understand where a fault comes from, like to keep your knowledge up-to-date, and work in a structured and accurate manner.
Step in!
Enthusiastic? Great! Let us hear from you as soon as possible via the application form below. Want to brainstorm first? Feel free to call our recruiter.
