The role
Eurofins Maritime Services is a fast-growing Business Unit within Eurofins, specializing in laboratory analysis and quality services for the global maritime sector. Think of analyses of fuels, wastewater, and environmentally related samples on board ships. With an enthusiastic team of about 10 colleagues, we work together daily to support customers worldwide.
Due to current growth and an internal shift in responsibilities, we are ready for a new role within the team: a Sales Lead.
What you'll do
As Sales Lead, you are the commercial point of contact and the working foreman of our sales team. You will manage the three (and possibly four) account managers operationally and commercially. All customer inquiries that currently land with the Business Unit Manager will soon come to you.
But beware — this is not a role for someone who only wants to manage strategically.
The majority of your time (80–90%) you will be active in the field yourself: bringing in new customers, closing deals, spotting opportunities, and performing cold acquisition when necessary. On top of that, you will take responsibility for the team: coaching, providing direction, and conducting performance reviews.
We are looking for someone who loves to get their hands dirty while simultaneously maintaining an overview of the complete commercial process.
- Actively approaching new customers and markets within the global maritime sector.
- Building your own sales funnel and closing deals independently.
- Advising customers on our laboratory services and offering practical solutions.
- Creating commercial proposals, determining prices, and coordinating logistical processes with our Eurofins labs worldwide.
- Monitoring market developments and trends and translating these into opportunities for EMS.
- Becoming a valuable substantive interlocutor for both customers and colleagues.
- Daily management of the sales team (3–4 account managers).
- Observing sales processes and providing support where necessary.
- Conducting performance reviews and helping team members grow.
- Proactively identifying bottlenecks – not waiting until someone knocks on your door.
- Ensuring that commercial processes run smoothly and efficiently.
