The role
At Clinical Diagnostics Nederland, we contribute to a healthy and safe world. With laboratories throughout the Netherlands, we offer a complete diagnostic portfolio: clinical chemistry, medical microbiology, pathology, molecular diagnostics, genomics, and functional and imaging research. From Clinical Diagnostics SCAL, Rooseveltstraat location, we provide diagnostics for primary care. For this laboratory, we are looking for two senior analysts, divided into the focus areas of hematology and clinical chemistry.
What you'll do
As a senior analyst, you combine laboratory work with an important technical and coordinating role within the team. You are an experienced point of contact for colleagues, actively participate in thinking about the daily organization of the laboratory, and take over a portion of the technical tasks of the team leader.
In the absence of the team leader, you take over part of the daily coordination and responsibilities, where necessary. Together with the team, you monitor the progress of the work, maintain an overview of priorities, and serve as a first point of contact in complex or unexpected situations. In doing so, you work closely with the clinical chemist and the team leader.
In the lab
- Perform and validate routine and specialist determinations;
- Preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment, according to applicable regulations;
- Signal deviations in the analytical equipment and repair malfunctions yourself where possible;
- Maintain contact with suppliers and service technicians for the equipment;
Quality and improvement
- Contribute to the validation of analytical methods;
- Collaborate on the development of and compliance with quality standards;
- Draft and update protocols and work instructions;
- Improve work processes: you signal points for improvement, are proactive in proposing solutions, and take the initiative to make processes more efficient, reliable, and future-proof.
What do we ask?
- You work accurately, with a focus on quality, and according to applicable protocols and guidelines;
- You are proactive and solution-oriented: you signal deviations, malfunctions, and bottlenecks and take the initiative to resolve them or improve them structurally;
- You are independent and responsible and can assess well when you can resolve a situation yourself and when coordination with the team leader or clinical chemist is required;
- You are flexible and can handle changes, unexpected situations, and varying priorities well;
- You are stress-resistant and maintain an overview of the work, staffing, and urgent determinations even during busy shifts. You set the right priorities without compromising quality and safety;
- You are communicatively skilled and easily approachable. You can explain technical matters clearly, share knowledge, and give and receive feedback in a constructive manner;
- You have a coaching and collaborative attitude and enjoy guiding new colleagues and interns;
- You have an eye for the bigger picture and actively contribute to good cooperation and a smooth flow of daily laboratory processes;
- Good command of the Dutch language, both oral and written;
- You are available for at least 32 hours per week.
