Business Developer Maritime Services

• Completed HBO (Higher Professional Education) degree, preferably in a commercial or maritime direction;
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in sales/business development, preferably in the maritime sector and/or in the field of laboratory services;
• Experience in developing new business opportunities and closing deals at a strategic level;
• Knowledge of laboratory testing and analysis processes is a strong plus;
• You have no trouble with cold calling – in fact, you get energy from approaching new customers;
• Excellent communication skills, both in Dutch and in English (multiple languages are a plus).
• Strong network within the maritime industry and the willingness to expand this further.
• A result-oriented and proactive working attitude, with the ability to operate independently and achieve commercial objectives.
• Willingness to travel internationally and support customers worldwide.

• Identifying and approaching new customers and markets within the global maritime sector;
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and potential customers;
• Developing commercial strategies and sales plans to realize growth opportunities;
• Advising customers on laboratory tests and solutions that meet their specific needs;
• Presenting commercial proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals;
• Monitoring market trends, competition, and customer needs to further optimize our services;
• Collaborating with internal teams to successfully implement customer projects and ensure customer satisfaction;
• Maintaining sales reports and providing input for the business strategy.

We receive many questions about our (especially water-related) services, and your challenge is to turn this into an assignment. You will coordinate with Eurofins laboratories all over the world. You determine the price, the logistical route, and arrange everything for this assignment once you have the customer's agreement. In short, will you develop yourself as a valuable technical interlocutor for our customers and colleagues? 

Eurofins Maritime Services is a fast-growing Business Unit within Eurofins, specializing in laboratory analysis and quality services for the global maritime sector. Think of analyses of fuels, wastewater, and environmentally related samples on board ships. With an enthusiastic team of about 10 colleagues, we work together daily to support customers worldwide.

To continue our growth in the Netherlands and beyond, we are looking for a Business Developer with an extensive maritime background and commercial drive.

In this role, you will set the maritime market in motion. You will focus on expanding our customer base, introducing new products, and strengthening existing customer relationships. You combine strategic insight with a hands-on approach: from spotting new opportunities to closing deals.

You love being in contact with customers, both by telephone and on location, and you have the energy to further expand the business. You know what is happening within the maritime world and can translate our laboratory services into practical, valuable solutions for shipping and maritime companies.

We are looking for someone who speaks the language of the maritime world and is not afraid to pick up the phone or step on board.
