Allround Technical Assistant

• MBO level and experience with E&I, WTB, or Mechatronics activities;
• Willingness to follow courses, if applicable;
• Good communication skills, proficiency in the Dutch language is a requirement;
• Problem-solving ability and a proactive mindset;
• Ability to work both independently and in a team;
• Available for on-call services (this will only be after 1 to 2 years).

Within the TD, the McMain maintenance management system is used. Furthermore, knowledge and experience are required with:

• Turning/milling
• Welding, specifically TIG welding
• Control technology
• Pneumatics
• Electrotechnical activities
• Building Management System
• An advantage is installation technology (air handling and refrigeration technology)

The Technical Service is responsible for maintaining and improving production/laboratory equipment, central utilities (including gas, water, air, electricity), buildings, and grounds. The department consists of a Team Leader, 3 allround technical assistants, and features a workshop equipped with all technical necessities.

If you are the person who, partly due to good maintenance, ensures that our machines/production run smoothly every day (without disruptions), then this position is for you.

With us, you will work in a varied role, where no two days are the same, and where you perform activities in both the mechanical and electrical (control) technical fields together with the Technical Service colleagues.

What does a random day for a TD employee look like: You arrive in the morning and check the GBS (Building Management System) for reports and/or malfunctions. If this requires action, you resolve it immediately. Next, you start with the maintenance of a machine that you had already started working on yesterday. At that moment, a report comes in that a machine in production (in the laboratory) has failed; together with the operator, you resolve this malfunction. With a sense of satisfaction, you then continue with your maintenance task. Because the malfunction has occurred several times already, you discuss an improvement proposal with the TD Team Leader so that this malfunction can be prevented in the future.

In short, a versatile role where you do not always know exactly how the day will unfold at the start of the day, with room to submit improvement proposals and opportunities to further develop yourself.

Once you are trained and can independently solve malfunctions and/or estimate which actions to take, you will participate in rotating shifts (24/7) in the on-call services.
