At Dura Vermeer Bouw & Vastgoed Amsterdam, you will work on challenging urban area developments in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. You bring vision, creativity, and collaboration together to successfully advance complex projects. With our ambition to develop 1,000 homes on a risk-bearing basis annually, you will have plenty of room to make an impact on urban planning, sustainability, and livable neighborhoods. Are you the experienced Area Developer who knows how to connect stakeholders and get developments moving? Then we would love to meet you.
As an Area Developer at Dura Vermeer, you will manage complex and often urban projects in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. You transform existing buildings, raw land, or construction-ready sites into vibrant residential and working areas, whether in different phases or not. You manage concept, planning, finances, and collaboration with partners and stakeholders. You also represent the interests of Dura Vermeer in collaborations or participations. Together with your internal colleagues, such as concept developers and project developers, you ensure that our positions and developments gain momentum and that our project developers can get to work with the right starting points.

Managing concept, impact, finances, planning, and risks.

Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can notice that. In how we work together, look out for one another, and build with an eye for future generations. Since 1855, we have been building the Netherlands, in residential construction, utility construction, infrastructure, and technology. Our independence and long-term vision form the basis for this.
With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, it is not about those figures for us. It is about people. About colleagues working together on projects you can be proud of – iconic and close to home – and contributing to solutions for societal issues.
Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with engaged people. That is why we invest in good employerhood and a working environment in which you feel at home. Where you can be yourself, feel safe, and speak up. So that you get the best out of yourself and achieve more together with us.
Dura Vermeer has great ambitions as a developer. In our portfolio, you will find challenging (area) developments with distinctive concepts, mostly in urban locations. Our working area covers the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, where we embrace urban challenges and want to add maximum value to our plans. This results in projects where you can truly make an impact on areas such as urban planning, architecture, sustainability, and social cohesion.
As an organization, we are growing towards a branch where 1,000 homes are acquired and sold on a risk-bearing basis annually. This means that we bear the risk ourselves, from the purchase to the sale of the homes. You play an important role in our complex developments.
Dura Vermeer distinguishes itself in the field of collaboration. We work closely with municipalities, partners, and stakeholders within our projects, and certainly also with our colleagues in Amsterdam. We are known for our intensive and sincere collaboration, which leads to innovative and sustainable solutions in every project.
Dura Vermeer is a strong real estate organization you can rely on. You will regularly meet colleagues from other branches to exchange knowledge and develop expertise. With our internal area studio, ID, we offer an expertise center for spatial development, market advice and sales management, acquisition, and area development, which supports you in your project tasks.
With recently ongoing area developments such as Hamerkwartier, Victoriapark, Victoria Gardens and long-term area developments such as Asterweg Amsterdam, Park Valley Diemen and Schalkwijk Midden in Haarlem and recently won tenders such as Beurskwartier Utrecht and ongoing processes in, among others, Amsterdam, Zaandam and Haarlem, we show that we operate at the highest level of area development.
These points show the direction of the profile we are looking for in this position. Should you not recognize yourself in all the requirements, but you do think this is the position for you? Then we would love to have a conversation with you.
