What we're looking for

several years of relevant work experience in ocean freight, preferably within forwarding at a freight forwarder, with good knowledge of operational import and/or export processes;
knowledge of FCL and LCL shipments, the associated documentation, transport flows, and operational processes;
a proactive and result-oriented work attitude. You take responsibility, identify bottlenecks in a timely manner, and take independent action to ensure shipments run smoothly;
strong organizational skills; you maintain an overview of multiple files at once, set the right priorities, and monitor deadlines and agreements made;
an accurate way of working, with an eye for detail when checking transport documentation, invoicing, and the financial settlement of files.

On average, our import team processes about 100 shipments per person per month. A fast pace? Certainly. But for you, with your experience in ocean freight, that is exactly the challenge that gives you energy! You know the trade, maintain an effortless overview, and know exactly how to switch between customers, carriers, and deadlines. You manage import shipments from A to Z, think ahead, solve bottlenecks quickly, and ensure every file is perfect down to the last detail, including the financial settlement. The result? Efficient processes, satisfied customers, and shipments that smoothly reach their destination: you make it happen.

How do you do this? We give you the confidence to organize the work in your own way. Naturally, you bring knowledge of incoterms, are strong in relationship management, and still get energy from operational tasks. You handle customer files from A-Z; you are in the lead. You achieve this by:

What you'll do

translating customer inquiries into concrete bookings and coordinating import shipments via ocean freight, including the administrative and financial handling of files in CargoWise;
checking transport documentation for accuracy and completeness, while observing applicable Incoterms and customer-specific agreements;
directing and instructing the customs department regarding the preparation of T1 documents and providing customs clearance;
proactively identifying and following up on deviations during the transport process, informing customers timely about progress, and handling claims and operational bottlenecks.
